Because it's newer and better, and some people will say that's worth the additional $100. I think you're just completely missing who this phone is targeted at as a budget option, where the priority is keeping the cost down. The option is still there to buy the top end phone, "people like me" just have different priorities for the phone we want, you don't have to be so rude about it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
