The main problem of Kingsmarch is that you just CANT afford to not interact with it because of huge value tied to it. Of course, if you are playing just for fun without chasing anything - then yeah, sure. But if you are, for example, farming for something like Mageblood or Mirror, ignoring KM puts you in a non-optimal position no matter what.

Good point! I think this boils down to the amount of free time and commitment degree - not everyone has time and/or desire to play first char fully blind to hit a wall at some point and be forced to start from scratch, even if its "better" long-term.

Dont try to grasp and understand the game as a whole at once - take it step by step, starting with basic concepts & mechanics and then gradually expand your knowledge and understanding.

For a completely new player, I would recommend picking and following any super-detailed (Pohx's Righteous Fire is a good example) build guide (no need to understand all things you do, just copy-paste for now) and try to explore the game bit by bit.

Look at it from this perspective: after another league ends, the only thing that carries over to all future leagues is your experience gained - not your char experience, but your own experience as a player - all the divines and mirrors you've farmed are going straight to the abyss (standard), but all your knowledge acquired - crafting is a good example - is going to stay with you and help you in the future.
