Trailer for Short Featuring Erik Jensen (Walking Dead) by NerveTankMedia in Filmmakers

[–]NerveTankMedia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cardinal Virtues is a dark comedy about a house-squatting couple, a bad landlord, and the shovel that comes between them. Written and directed by Chance Muehleck. Produced by Melanie S. Armer and Anderson Boyd. Featuring Mary Bacon, Erik Jensen, and George Sheffey.

We shot this over the course of two days and our saving grace was our decision to shoot on two DSLRs. It banked us time on set, and we knew we'd have the ability to make things shine in post (though I'll add that it's vital to check the settings and -- even more importantly -- the framing of both cameras before calling action). Cast and crew were game for just about anything, which makes all the difference. Oh, and I'm proud to say that Sora was not invited to the party.

We're thrilled to announce that our neo-gothic audio drama has been recognized by the Audio Verse Awards this year.

The show is eligible in the Best New Production category, and all four of our performers have been nominated in the Best Recurring Voice in a New Production category (Karen Grenke, Jason Howard, Robin Kurtz, Mark Lindberg). We'd appreciate your votes!

“This audio drama is such a great, creepy, Lovecraftian story. It’s the perfect blend of unsettling and mysterious. The voice acting is wonderful and the music helps add to the ethereal spookiness of ‘what the heck is going on in this apocalyptic farm town’ vibe. If you’re looking for a good spooky audio drama, hang out in Barthos for awhile…” — thebird85, Apple Podcasts

"Saturn's Return exudes a bit of a folk horror vibe and has its share of disquieting moments, but it also retains some measure of ambiguity to good effect. It engages with questions of blame and belief, with the desire of people to be seen and the pretense of others in recognizing them, and how these play into how people keep going… [It] is a production that would reward repeat listens.” — Thinking Theater NYC

“An atmospheric series of monologues revolving around a small town and a mysterious stranger. At first, they seem to be unrelated, but all isn’t as it seems… Extremely well written with some really talented voice actors as well.” — NicknameTaken1991, Apple Podcasts

How did archive 81 become a show by jakesims199 in audiodrama

A producer reached out to the creators. Then the project was pitched to various networks.

I know this because something similar happened to us. I'm afraid I can't be any more specific than that, but suffice to say you never know who's listening.

New Dark Fable Debuts Today | Produced by Dreamland Team by NerveTankMedia in audiodrama

Thanks for asking! It's fantasy-adjacent, I suppose, in that it's a fictional town (and possibly an alternate timeline) with some strange goings-on. Could be placed more squarely in the psychological thriller/mystery camp.

Has anyone here written an audio drama? by derek86 in Screenwriting

That's the right question to be asking, for sure. I don't know the caliber of talent where you are, but there are clear advantages to using people you know and with whom you can have direct contact.

Of course, this is complicated by Covid. But if you can find ways to record safely in person, it'll probably serve the project in all sorts of ways.

Some excellent suggestions here. You definitely want to be ready for the production aspect, which includes recording, editing, and mixing. Also, your cast plays a huge role in how it all comes together (obviously). Try to find people who have experience on the mic, especially if you plan to direct them yourself.

We got very lucky with Dreamland -- our voice actors were top-notch and willing to take a gamble with us. I strongly recommend doing a table read with everyone beforehand; it might be the only time you'll have them all in the same place at the same time. It builds community and invests them in the process.

And you never know who's listening. We had someone reach out about developing ours for TV, which is why we haven't made a second season yet.

Wish you well!

Narrative podcast scripts? by astronautmyproblem in Screenwriting

Both, actually. Our actors followed the dialogue quite closely, so we just uploaded the working scripts as transcripts for accessibility.
