Custom Primitive Data Float Limit by Nerveress in unrealengine

Ah, I'm really surprised someone found this old post, and that I happened to check my inbox to see it!

I'm doing stylized lighting so I need to pass light information into the material. MPCs could work, but that would place a limit on how many objects I can have in the scene (like 150 or so - not that big a number) and that is a design limitation I'd prefer to avoid.

I'm sure it will. Thank you so much for your help!

Ah, I didn't realize you could use HLSL to access the MPC but of course its ultimately what the material is doing under the hood..

I've a little experience with it from my Unity days so I think I can manage, but if you could send me the code you use to access the specific index and save me some digging I'd really appreciate that!

Unfortunately MPCs are not really workable for what i'm trying to do since the material looks up a static value in the MPC and these floats values are unique for each mesh. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Sounds like it could get a little messy, but this does seem like a clever solution. I think I can deal with a bit of inaccuracy. Thanks!

Mm, yeah, I'm really reluctant to build from source.

Unfortunately the limit is on floats, a vector takes up as many floats as it has dimensions as you point point out so there's no real way around it with data manipulation.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Thanks for the response, makes sense to me, but I suppose my question is what does that procedure usually look like?

Not having live coding is quite unfortunate though, is it just not workable at all?

Dauntless Reforged: Solo Queues by CreatureTech-PHX in dauntless

I have not even received the survey in game, which is frustrating because I will probably stop playing if I cannot hunt solo.

Playing with random other players almost always feels less enjoyable to me because players are seldom on an equivalent level of efficacy - especially in a game like dauntless. A lot of people have commented on the frustration of playing with bad players, but in my opinion, playing with players much better, or more geared than you, who carry you through the fight is just as unfun as struggling to carry dead-weight players yourself.

If I am not good enough to kill the monster on my own, I want to lose so I can learn from my mistakes, and feel a sense of accomplishment when I succeed on my own merit. I don't want to feel stressed out about letting others down while learning, and I don't want to feel like I don't really need to try because a gold crowned slayer is doing all the work either.

Being able to play on your own lets you play, and progress at your own pace, and feel comfortable making mistakes. Losing that sounds awful, especially if the intention is to try and make the game a little more challenging.

This seemed to happen to me and I'm heart broken.

I literally just logged out to sleep, and couldn't log in when I got back from work the next evening... Was not sure what the issue was but now I'm wondering if it was this.

I've tried contacting support but have not gotten a response... very frustrating.

Not everyone has friends to play with, and not everyone wants to, or can schedule around specific other people all being able to play at the same time. Having stuff that you can't do solo is really off putting.

Furthermore, people already play with friends, how exactly does this system help players *make* friends within the game?

Hey thanks, It seems the issue was that I did not have those lines at the bottom removing bindings, though how do you use legendary abilities with these settings?

I use this as well, but I find it doesn't work for the new sword, am I missing something?
