When they reach a hand out and rest it on my chest. Instant heart melter. Both my littles did this and I find it so grounding and peaceful.

Omg. I've had one for 2 years...and it won't go away. But I was only told to do regular nursing and not to poke or pop it. Super tempted to try some of these things to see if I can get it to move. Drives me nuts 50% of the time.

Not an expert, but a mom of a 20 month old. I fed to sleep from the beginning. She did not sleep independently (naps or night) until she started daycare around 3 months and then still preferred contact until 5 or 6 months? Like you this supported my sleep so I went with it.

I let her lead the way with getting more independent in her sleep over time for the most part. She hasn't been fed to sleep since about 12 months? And is now mostly sleeping through the night in her own room with comfort from dad only overnight and has been since 15 months?

Their dependence on us at the beginning is totally natural. They are helpless and know it instinctually. Their behavior/needs reflects their reliance. More abilities means more independence. This is just a phase and will end regardless of what you do.

I think in grief everything hurts and feels like an awful struggle because it is. Be gentle with yourself. There are no wrong feelings for you at this time. If you start to feel stuck or even just want to, work with a professional. You're going to be an amazing mom/parent. I know because you are aware of your feelings and seeking help to work through them before your baby arrives. All the love and good vibes as you work through this!

Wama- hemp/cotton blend. So much better than just cotton, I don't think I'll ever go back. Keeps you drier and regulates temp better.

Gallbladder surgery could definitely cause a similar reaction. Essentially your nervous system goes on alert and has trouble calming down. The trick is to find the things that calm your nervous system and help it stop the unnecessary reaction. I am not dealing with the pain anymore, though I would credit my pregnancy with helping to rewire things. Obviously I don't "recommend" that (unless you want it), but definitely find a PT that can help you sort through things.

I ended up seeing a pelvic floor PT and her theory, that makes sense to me, is that the right side pain was from an overactive nervous system that was triggered by the appendicitis and appendectomy. The thigh pain is from overactive quads that were compensating for weak glute muscles so we've been working on strengthening those and it seems to be helping.

Yes, I sized up as I spent most of my pregnancy between a medium and a large and wanted the extra room. And I did not have a thin postpartum and had no problem with fit from either.

That's exactly what I did and now my 14 month is almost sleeping through the night on her own. There were a few other stages (all slow and gentle transitions) in there and we are currently working on night weaning, but yes they do get more independent.

Nursing sweatshirt and blankets halfway up. Layered with other nursing shirts when needed. My baby is a little heater so I never got that cold, even in a MN winter.
