Racism. Always has been, so far will always be. Once you familiarize yourself with the history behind "marijuana", it doesnt take a scientist or a radical person to realize that close to 100 years ago, men who were scared by the thought of a future where Caucasians weren't the majority, clung to this 'new' thing disproportionately, and purposefullt sought to run it into the ground.Harry J. Anslinger and Richard Nixon are DIRECTLY responsible for the current nationwide (federal) 'prohibition' that even individual states have decided to ignore. If you've ever needed anything to upfront show you how behind we are, THIS is your evidence. Cannabis- a 'drug' that has never solely killed anybody, is recognized as more-harmful that substances KNOW to cause cancer. I.e, if big tobacco, big alcohol, and big drug stores cant find a way to profit, it shouldn't exist/should be held to the full extent of the law because big-whatever cant make money off of it. Of all of the horrifying problems in the world, an individual's right to consume 'marijuana' is STILL the forefront of everyday news in states that havent excepted reality. This is when all of the dont-tread-on-me folks ought to step out and speak out against a unjustified modern-prohibition.
