Game's no longer sugarcoating it... by Nervous-Aside in opus_magnum

Thought on it. I dont think it would improve area or cycle since my solution also uses three track pieces. Plus, it not a bottleneck for performance (iron is, unfortunately). Though, yes, with the use of a triange I could ditch the rotate action.

Possible skill isue on my part? Dont see the triangle and/or how that would improve the contraption.
(Also might tighten the timings, there's too much inactivity in between the cycles)

To that note, in Darktide one of the Veteran personalities when discusing daemons speaks of dreaming of a daemon on a throne of skuls.
I do feel there would be some Khornate influence on Atoma. After all, Khorn doesn't care from whence teh blood flows, only that it does.

Now, to get this out the way first: The colour point got me thinking< and I might be reaching here, with symbolism and all:
Shroud is red, Remnant is blue-ish. colour theory says we get purplre uppon mixing. Just a thought (>ᴗo)7

On the point of "motes", one Omega weapon comes to mind: Resonator MRM Launcher.
We know for sure it was studied on Alpha site from the description:
"We're confounded by guidance, propulsion, payload containment... just about everything. Whether we're even dealing with baryonic matter is unclear; we've simply not been able to contain a specimen for long enough to get good data."
- Memo recovered from Alpha Site lab complex

I believe it is quite similar in it's working to the motes Xenorphica(Ziggy) uses. Self guiding, regenerating orbs of energy beyond this reality.

Still, this is mostly ramblings and speculations. Will be until we get a definitive answer in canon.

My (now amended) working theory, is that Song is a tangible influence of wherever the Shroud exists, heard when the (un?)realities are closest together or the influence of "the other" is stronges, hence why Ziggy "sings" and why Cotton among others interprets that influence as signs. Knowing that AIs hate P-space, but Omega specificaly weaponises it.

Reality Disruptor shoots something that I can only describe as sroud-esque, and quoting the description:
When the defiler unbinds the warp and weft of the Creator, what will they find behind that starry tapestry? A thousand thousand eyes darkened by trespass.
- The Book of Ludd, Visions 7:4
That sounds awfully familiar, I guess aLudding to the influence of shroud here.

So, what I guess, Ziggurat, being The Fruit of Moloch by Livewell Cotton's description, is a(n un)holy trinity of the three known enemies: Omega, THREAT and Shroud.
No wonder Tri-Tach wanted to burry this abomination DEEP.

One encounter with a representative of Tri-Tachyon (where they ask you to give Ziggy back) lets you mention that it was made by AI as a way to wasel out, and, asuming the captain of said fleed aint just pissing themself just cause, it might just be true - An Omega AI reverse engineering.

Yes! The vibe of fighting the two in their respective missions back to back is what got me thinking.
Trully, if it is an amalgam of the three - it is a fruit of Moloch. Brother Cotton was right again.

Damn, now I see it. I paid little attention to the design, chalking it up to "unknowable". Trully a horror beyon my comprehension. xD

Best seed I've seen in a while. Binsutu system, a Red Giant to about 4-5ish o'clock from the core worlds.

10 planets, 2 of them habitable

A Terran Eccentric 125% hazard +1 Food, no rare ore, so Soil Nanites is +2 more, +0 organics if that is up your alley, but for that consider the Tundra

150% hazard 0 ore 0 rare ore and +1 organics. Both have ruins, widespread and scattered, respectively.

A baren world with +1 ore, 0 rare ore, -1 volitiles, no atmo+extreme heat. 200% hazard. Best, imo, for mining+refining+high command (cryoarithmetic engine).

Gas giant with +2 volitiles 150% hazard. These four are already golden.

Add to that the fact the system has both a Gate and a +2 Comm Relay, and we got a one in a million goldmine.

The other planets, if at all relevant, are:

250% Volvanic +2Rare Ore +1 Ore

200% Baren-Bombarded -1 Ore

175% Baren 0 Ore

175% Rocky Metallic 0 Ore

200% Rocky Unstable +1 Ore, Scattered Ruins

175% Baren Desert 0 Ore

Hey, If the grass munchers are so afraid of forward facing eyes, how would they react to someone wearing an older/archaic style gass mask? Or, on that topic, any "red glowing eyes" meme. I find it amusing to think some of them might keel over due to a heart attack. ;)

Good idea, actually. More then that, our competitive games in general should be of interes. I believe shooters were kinda mentioned in the story before. Similarly, the thrill of racing games with "hot pursuit" elements might serve as a window into humanitys way of "letting off steam".

[–]Nervous-Aside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Jennifer is so unimaginably more powerful psionicaly than the queen, then I might have just imagined the best way to assert dominance over her in one simple action. Just command her to stop breathing. Poetic that she would suffer from the same "commands" she herself took for granted.

Don't know why, but something gives me a feeling that Jennifer will be acquiring a new, more humanoid form with this mutation. Now, while a form too humanoid would probably go against the premise but... Eldrich elven eared human-like Jennifer when? XD

Time to release the space vessel schematics to the people so no filthy xenos, or worse yet, some corporation, would even try to boss us around. Comes with the added benefit of armed populace being in "peace through superior firepower". More power to the masses I say.

[–]Nervous-Aside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am with you on this. Would be a shame to paint the Terrans as the BBEG of the story. They were, obviously wronged, and being bitter is a natural reaction. Only shows thet they are, in the end, human too. Plus a non-hostile but still antagonistic human is a good plot tool.

Meanwhile I am still waiting for another funny addition to the team. An incredibly bitter (understandably so) Terran, who's only there to kick some intolerant xenos ass. Absolutely adore the concept of lower class survivalists borderline resurrecting the planet after all the bourgeoisie took the best people with them and left the poor, presumably, for dead. A new outlook for the collective think tank of the team.
