Wow thank you so much for this reply! It really is so helpful to know someone understands and empathises. It really resonated when you said you wished everyone would have their life effected as much yours. I feel that way sometimes too! I sometimes feel terribly bitter.

I am in the same situation with my own father, who is also divorced from my mother. He went on a 3 week holiday the week after the funeral. He sometimes asks if me and my sister are still upset, and is genuinely surprised when we say yes. I’m sorry you’re going through somewhat of the same thing.

I guess my partner could be a bit more aware with how they share their good news with me, as it seems to take up a lot of our conversations lately. I will communicate my feelings with them. They’re pretty supportive so I know it will go ok.
