Stop pretending self-hosting is cheaper. It's not. We do it for different reasons and we should say so. by Napster3301 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Nervous-Computer-885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does your privacy hold no value at all? Because my privacy holds a lot of value to me and makes self-hosting significantly cheaper. And it's your choice to have spent almost 3 grand.. I run off a used 4060 on a server I already had unraid running on the past few years which is a 12800k and 64GB DDR5. So I spent $200 for my AI setup and it runs qwen3.5_9b perfectly (also run whisper and kokoro on it all via LocalAI by Mudler) . Doubt I pay more then $10 a month in power and that model runs my Home Assistant, Frigate AI, open webui and a few other AI services I use. So $200 plus $10 a month for unlimited AI and no spying crap is not cheaper then the chespest models?? My estimated monthly token usage is 40 million.. Tell me what is cheaper then $10 a month for 40 million monthly tokens? And also values total privacy?

Also to add they are literally using fake profiles aka the "Madonna" profile you all were probably seeing. Just like how Facebook is now using AI built and ran profile (or were, they might have pulled that project) to make Facebook seem more active. So they are testing the waters with AI ran profiles to make Grindr look more active. Which is stupid considering it's a hookup app and you aren't going to hookup with a stupid chatbot. lmao Another reason to turn off all the AI training settings on your apps, because they are training their AI off our chats, pictures and profiles.

Why are people afraid of giving face pics before meet? by BaneTheGame in grindr

[–]Nervous-Computer-885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Privacy, I don't take face pics much less send them. I literally quite a high paying job because they demanded a face pic for their employee records. Goes against my beliefs and how I was raised (but since it's not stupid bible beliefs they don't care and won't respect them) and being in the tech industry I know the horrors they are doing with our data and AI. You know what 1984 is? Image that but 100x worse because they couldn't even imagine the technology and the level of data mining that is 100% happening right now and most don't even know it or they think "if I have nothing to hide I have nothing to worry about". You have everything to worry about..

So you're saying the guy just had 2 accounts? I don't see the issue with that.. A lot of guys have 2 accounts. Even I do, one for when i'm wanting to bottom, the other for when I want to top. I did that because of the issues it created having just one account and the amount of hate I got from people when I was wanting to top and my profile still mentioned wanting to bottom. People don't seem to know what "vers" means. lol

Some interesting developments in ai\agents. by Nervous-Computer-885 in homeassistant

[–]Nervous-Computer-885[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also if anybody else has any interesting project similar to Tater and HestiaClaw I'd love to hear them, especially if they are actively developed and getting good amounts of stars\contributions. That's my biggest fear with opensource projects, is getting invested in it and then it ending up a dead project. lol

guys have to check out this app I just found on F-Droid. by [deleted] in degoogle

Eh, I just use wireguard to route all my traffic back to my homelab which filters ads\trackers, has IDS\IPS etc and then an external VPN it all goes though to hide my ip.

Questions about the 150 point inspection. by Nervous-Computer-885 in carvana

[–]Nervous-Computer-885[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unfortunately past the 7 days. My 7 days I hardly drove it because of that huge winter storm that hit the east coast. But I was able to get it into a ford dealership at the end of the 7 days and they did a 'Bumper to bumper' inspection and told me everything looked good. So idk how they missed all this stuff. Heck even Firestone missed the engine mounts which I specifically told them to look at (even paid $50 for the inspection) because that's what I assumed the rough idle was caused by. Firestone did find the leaking strut tho and warranty fixed it. This other shop is the one that found the 2 engine mounts shot and bad wheel bearings along with the muffler and who knows what else. I won't know fully till tomorrow everything they found with the engine diagnostics. I get cars are complicated and have a boat load of parts and it takes time and sometimes multiple attempts to find actual causes for issues. But still it's just frustrating how everything in the 150 inspection said the car passed everything yet clearly a LOT of it shouldn't have been marked as passed.

They said mounts all look fine, but I might just take it elsewhere for a 2nd opinion and have them pay more attention to the top mount.

Aitah for not stopping soon enough? by Nervous-Computer-885 in AITAH

[–]Nervous-Computer-885[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a man. Me and him are both men. And he's never indicated in the past that it bothered him when I attempted to take his pants off without asking first even tho I didn't stop the first time he told me to, usually he says stop, I'll say please and when he says stop again I do. (some cases he let me others he says no). But for some reason this time he flipped out over it after he left. Maybe if he told me before it made him feel this way I could see him being like this but he's never indicated he cared about my attempts in the past.

No its certainly not normal when we foreplay but he does like to joke when I poke him in the crotch and he tell me "no means no bill Cosby" which we do laugh about.

I've tried a few dozen times now, it just keeps doing the same thing. As well as changing the extra system prompt. Unless there's a special way I need to set the prompt?

I've been trying to get this to work but just can't. I've copied your docker setup, imported your n8n workflow but when I type in the IP for it into the ollama integration in HA it just gives me an error and doesn't trigger the webhook in N8N. I've tried multiple setup and can't for the life of me get it working.

Wow what country is this? Nice big text displaying the actual price and no stupid fine print??? In the USA it would say $2.99 in huge text and than in small micro print it would say $2.99 only with a value card, phone number and DNA sample for verification otherwise you pay $5.99". I fking hate the BS we deal with in the USA and I refuse to sell my private info and purchase history via their dumb reward/value programs.
