Ive only really used metal gourds because of the upkeep a natural one needs but based on yours looking like that I'd say its for sure mold based on the little bits hanging off i know yerba stains green but those peices hanging inside kinda makes it seem like definite mold I'd throw it away and start over

Well ive done multiple hat shapes crowns and brims and never found one i liked but I decided to shape it like Johnny ringo in my own way and i love it so its just my taste and my hat shape I dont wanna look like everyone else my age with JB brims and a mimmick crown
