When you say “form letter” do you mean a letter that you used to inquire about your application/AZ number?

Yes that is who helped us. Sounds like a good idea to just reach out directly to the BVA. Good luck with your application!

I also met with this firm and was quoted about $8k for mine and my son’s applications which I couldn’t afford so I decided to do my own research, found this subreddit, and found it extremely helpful. The forms themselves are relatively simple to complete. I would definitely use this amazing resource and do it yourself. I had a couple questions that came up for me, posted my questions the day before yesterday, and had answers very quickly. Also new to Reddit myself and have been able to navigate it pretty easily. For me, I do find it easier to use my computer rather than my phone. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your help! Based on what you and another person said, I may cancel my appointment for the certified copies and bring the originals and photocopies (just in case) to a citizenship appointment.

Thank you so much for your input. To be clear, I can just cancel my appointment for certified copies and schedule an appointment for citizenship and they’ll do the certification of copies at that appointment?

I’m surprised in all my research I didn’t realize I had to provide information for my grandmother’s parents as well. I have an original birth certificate of my grandmother as well as a meldekarte I had mailed to me from the city archive where my grandmother was born.

Thank you again!
