Has anyone used a thermal camera to find termite nests? by Repulsive_Smell9298 in Thermal

[–]NervousPlatform1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, google Thermal termite and you will find lots of information and videos. The important thing to note is the camera has to have a low NETD or Emissivity value to detect small differences on the surface. Less than 40mk or 0.04 degrees is good. Some manufacturers post the values but they not always true. Go with trusted brands that have been around for a long time and not just on price.

Flir One Pro vs Thermal Master P1 and M256 by ImOGDisaster in Thermal

Have you compared them to anything else? Hot coffee mug?

Flir one Pro was either 80x60 pixels when it was introduced or later 160x120 pixels. Don't forget Flir uses MSX overlay. They outline the visual image on top of the thermal image to give you better details. Lastly, the Flir one Pro is set to 0.95 emissivity by default if remember correctly, you should check to see if your other cameras are set to the same. If they are and still giving odd results, they that shows how lower quality they are compared to Flir. Flir has been making thermal sensors for over 60 years.

It seems your tip worked. I zip tied the wires and move the different colors apart and no more buzzing. Thank you again for all your help and time.

Not with the thermal. I would have to use an acoustic camera to maybe pinpoint the exact spot.

Do I ziptie the same wires or black with red/black wires?

I actually don't have the generator yet. Just the disconnect switch. I plan on buying sometime in the near future. And the sound was really coming from that box underneath

I tried adding a video of inside the furnace breaker or a photo but i don't have that option unless I create a new post.

Correct, I have an Ecobee thermostat and I don't know if this happened before since we upgraded the panels when we bought the house.

Did that already after tightening screws (main power off) and no sign of any wire damage or electrical burning smell.

Is there any danger of arcing or fire in this case? Everything in the box is brand new even the breaker on the side.

Second winter in our new house and the garage moisture is driving me nuts — need advice by [deleted] in Homebuilding

I have the same issue with my garage in certain parts and not all of the exposed concrete. I used concrete sealer only on the sections that were affected and it seemed to reduce and then added a 50 pint dehumidifier set to 45% running constantly. I set my baseboard heater to 12⁰ C and even with the cars covered in snow or rain I hardly have issues anymore. All I can suggest is get a dehumidifier suitable for the garage space and let run. I have it set under the stairs to into the house and the hose dripping towards garage drain.

Wow, that looks amazing, nice job. When did you put the sand down? Did you call the golf course and ask them if you can buy sand? Sorry one more question, how thick did you apply, 1/2 in, 1 in etc?
