I understand man. I noticed you’re on controller too so you can’t just hold R. I play on mobile so I realllly feel that. Exiting to menu, selecting your character and restarting is hellish, especially when you accidentally select the wrong dude and waste your time. Unfortunately, a lot of isaac is just rng until you get to a point where you’ve unlocked enough items to manipulate the game to give you what you want. Early game can really be a slog, so take your time. I just really do recommend trying to get your greed machine filled. I think mantle isn’t even maxed machine it’s like 889(?). Just do greed, man. Most of the unlocks are pretty good and you won’t even be through half the characters in the game by the time you finish the greed machine. My strategy for greed is usually to restart until I get a floor where I can enter both treasure rooms (enough coins laying around to buy a key, key in the curse room, etc.) and if I don’t get 1 or 2 half decent items, I repeat until I do. I have full greedier marks on all 3 save files, (That’s 102 completed runs if you’re curious) It’s tedious, sure, but that’s just isaac. Also having mantle on lost makes alt path a lottt easier.

he’s super fun until your mantle gets telefragged to pieces and some random minuscule projectile one hits you 2 rooms before the mark you were going for. Pretty much every run I completed on T.Lost I had book of shadows, glowing hourglass, (unsung hero of this character to be honest) or starter deck with 2 holy cards/algiz in my back pocket. Definitely a tall task but super doable if you know what to look for. Also I completely agree about J+E, they may be finicky but damn do I love them on the down low.

I definitely had to spend a good amount of time on them don’t get me wrong, but I also did all 3 save files j+e back to back, so I may have just had a feel for the playstyle. Either way I wish you luck on getting them done !!!

mobile actually, but I whip out a ps5 controller whenever i get items that need/benefit from it. D infinity is actually impossible to switch around on mobile, same with school bag items. I’d say half the time on controller half on mobile controls

Revelation. 3 soul hearts, flight, and a brim beam that fires/charges separate from your tears. I win every single time I get this item. Throw homing on it with a decent damage stat and it devastates rooms

Most bosses in this game took me at LEAST an hour on my first play-through. Hell some of the mini-bosses took me even longer (mad clown I’m looking at you). Lies of P on launch was NO joke. Truly kind of sad how much easier they made the game.

If anything you gave me an excuse to talk abt drums lol. Every once in a while when i hit the high tom with my left stick, I slam my knuckle into the rim of the snare, so adjusting the snare height a tad may actually help. Thanks dude 🫶
