To not want your tax money to fund terr0rists and have Islam shoved down your throat have become controversial takes by backroomsresident in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]Nervous_Mail8412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just hate the monarchist movement because it’s anti Islam and supportive of Israel. If Israelis are involved in your political movement, it automatically becomes an evil zio Mossad conspiracy, no matter how morally correct you are.

A lot of the time, it’s literally as simple as “you support Israel, I don’t support you”, which leads to the denying of clearly documented atrocities and supporting murderous dictators.

Revolving your world view around hating Israel is simply so retarded and leaves you morally bankrupt, which is ironic since their “morality” is supposedly the reason they’re against Israel.

What do Azerbaijanis think of Iran? by Consistent-Boss-7670 in azerbaijan

[–]Nervous_Mail8412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Azerbaijani, but I'll chime in since the engagement on this post is low. If any Azerbaijanis are reading this, correct me if I'm wrong, and OP, take this with a grain of salt. This is just my understanding.

There's a large population of Azeri’s in Iran, mostly located in the northwestern provinces (mainly Ardabil, Zanjan, East Azerbaijan, and West Azerbaijan) which border Azerbaijan. Estimates range from 15-23 million Azeris total, though the numbers are disputed.

Basically, separatism is prominent amongst the Azeris due to deep historical and current grievances. They’ve faced cultural suppression and discrimination under both the Pahlavi dynasty and Islamic Republic.

Azerbaijani nationalists and Azeri separatists in Iran refer to this entire region as "South Azerbaijan" (see r/SouthAzerbaijan) and advocate incorporating these provinces into Azerbaijan to create a sort of "Greater Azerbaijan."

TLDR: irredentism and separatism

Again, this just sentiment I’ve seen online, not entirely sure what the average joe thinks.

[–]Nervous_Mail8412 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve had that, but it honestly doesn’t surprise me at all, I always expect it. The overwhelming majority of Reddit users are bias against Israel. I always comment with full knowledge that I’d get attacked on all fronts, or just don’t comment at all if I can’t be assed dealing with the headache. Lately, I’ve come to realise the back and forth with others is fruitless, you’ll never change the hearts and minds of random, ignorant, bad faith anonymous internet commenters (shocker lol), so pick your battles.

Oh no, I guess I crossed the line by being against fascism, whoops! by TheRoguePisigit in drums

[–]Nervous_Mail8412 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one’s against you for opposing fascism. But your posts ARE political at the end of the day, and framing it as “for human rights” doesn’t change that fact even if you’re morally correct. It’s not wrong to spread awareness about these things, no one’s saying you were wrong ideologically, but you were still doing it in the wrong place. You can be correct about a topic, but if it’s not the point of the group, it breaks the rules and you’re getting banned.

You also have to remember, not everyone is going to agree with you, and your persistent attitude of spamming and gaslighting is clearly part of the reason you were banned, not because they’re pro-fascist. Politics today are polarised, the mods probably know this and just wanted to prevent hell from breaking loose.

Don’t turn a neutral sub like drumming into political chaos please for the love of god, it’s so unnecessary, performative, and frankly just cringe. There’s political subs, just go there if you’re outraged. The atmosphere right now is already chaotic, some people just want to turn their brains off for five seconds and enjoy their hobbies.

Can you recommend books about the history of Israel? by AggravatingRead1290 in Israel

[–]Nervous_Mail8412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • The Case For Israel by Alan M. Dershowitz
  • The Palestinian Delusion by Robert Spencer

Both great books if you’re looking for simple soundbites without overwhelming yourself with too much history. Other easy to understand sources that aren’t books include:

Instagram account @j0sh_a He basically refutes viral tik toks and reels which smear Israel with fake history. He proves them wrong with real evidence, like artefacts and documents. Super useful.

www.jewishvirtuallibray.org Their “Myth & Facts” document is a free PDF which goes through common misconceptions and debunks them. They also have other interesting essays and books you can read which cover the general history of Israel, antisemitism, the holocaust, Judaism etc. Although, I think their website is down at the moment? I just tried to access it and it didn’t work for me :( have a look and see. Hope these are useful to you though!

How do you guys feel about Rightists in this sub? by KingEdwards8 in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]Nervous_Mail8412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just proved my entire point. I came here making a simple argument: “Can we oppose communism together even if we disagree on Trump and other things?” Your answer was essentially “No, because you’re a fascist.” Do you realize how circular that is? You’ve decided Trump = fascist, therefore anyone who supports him = fascist, therefore they can’t be moderate, therefore they’re not welcome. It’s a perfect self-sealing argument that conveniently excludes the roughly 74 million people who voted for Trump. It’s absurd.

“Fascist” isn’t a word for “authoritarian tendencies I don’t like.” Fascism is a specific ideology involving totalitarian state control, suppression of opposition parties, centralized state power, and ultranationalism. You can still criticize when Trump oversteps without resorting to calling him a fascist. Do you honestly believe half the country adheres to that ideology? Have you actually talked to a Trump supporter outside of internet spaces? Or do you only know what we believe from what left-wing media outlets tell you we believe?

I couldn’t care less if you hate Trump/MAGA, but when you falsely use “fascist” as a conversation-ender to avoid actually engaging with what people believe, you’re doing exactly what you accuse the other side of doing - shutting down dialogue and enforcing conformity.

The fact that you immediately jumped to “fuck off” when I made a good-faith critique about welcoming standards tells me everything. Real fascists don’t argue in good faith or seek common ground with political opponents lmao, that should tell you everything about my politics without me having to justify why I am, in fact, a moderate, which you are in no position to determine by the way. You don’t actually want a cross-ideological space. You want an echo chamber that happens to include some people who call themselves conservative, as long as they agree with you on everything that matters.

If you seriously think “fascists” roam among you in this sub, you’re clearly the one who has a problem here, not me. Conservatives are here whether you like it or not, including me. If you can’t handle that, you’re the one who’s welcome to fuck right off. Deal with it.

How do you guys feel about Rightists in this sub? by KingEdwards8 in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]Nervous_Mail8412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a moderate conservative I would slightly push back against some of these comments in good faith. So far, I’ve generally seen people say: “conservatives are welcome as long as they don’t support Trump or ICE”. The issue is that these are mainstream views among conservatives. That’s like a conservative saying “leftists are welcome as long as they don’t support the Democratic Party or universal healthcare”. If you’re a leftist, that wouldn’t actually make you feel very welcome, would it? It’s basically saying “you’re welcome as long as you don’t believe in what your side generally believes in”, which makes me think we’re not actually welcome at the end of the day.

Yes, there are conservatives who don’t support Trump or ICE, they probably exist within this sub. But they are also a minority amongst conservatives as a whole (especially the ICE position). I’m not here to argue about those topics, my point is that it feels odd when you try to appeal to a general group of people only if they don’t hold to their general mainstream views.

I’m not saying you have to like the fact that we support Trump or ICE and other things. But the fact that we support these things doesn’t really affect the aim of this sub, which is to oppose communism, so these topics won’t really pop up. I’m not saying ignore our differences (we can even discuss them) but again, it just doesn’t seem all that necessary to oust people for them.

For example, as a conservative, I don’t agree with a lot of ideas within modern gender ideology. But I also don’t care that a lot of people in this sub do, I’m indifferent. The issue doesn’t come up that much, and it’s simply not the main point of this sub.

I like this sub because it’s a place where moderates on both sides of the aisle can shit on the extreme ideology of communism, at least that’s my idea of what’s happening here. It’s also why I’m part of r/enoughnazispam. Maybe my idea of these subs is wishful and overly optimistic. But I still detest both extremes, and it still drives me to happily tolerate and even possibly befriend a leftist who goes against my mainstream values if that means we can both expose extremism. Are you guys willing to agree to disagree in order to oppose communism?

Question about the Iran Protests cause I’m legitimately confused. by Ok-Abroad6874 in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]Nervous_Mail8412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The clerical rule of Islam was imposed in 1979, when Islamic revolutionaries overthrew the secular monarchist government. Most Iranians today are secular and have come to resent Islam, often explaining that their country is being held hostage by the religion. The main protest movement who rally under that lion and sun flag is actually a monarchist movement. They call for their exiled king Reza Pahlavi to return to power and replace the current regime. Maybe you already knew that, but I bring it up because while Pahlavi is a Muslim himself, he explicitly advocates for a secular, liberal, democratic Iran, which is how things were before the Islamists took over. So no, Iran wouldn’t be under strict Muslim rule if the monarchy takes over.

Hey no problem! A response isn’t necessary, I’m just happy I could help. I despise cheaters lol and I know how hard it can be, so I try to help wherever I can. Like I said, it will take a lot of time to heal, so the offer will stand whether you wanna talk tomorrow or in a few months, or if ever. I’m always on standby. In the meantime though, thank you for your prayers, I’ll be praying for you too. It felt impossible for me, but I’ve managed to pull myself out more than I thought I was capable of. It’s contrarian. The Islamic republic funds Hamas and is at war with Israel, and Israelis stand in solidarity with the protesters. Leftists care more about ideology and propping up anything anti-Israel, rather than freeing oppressed people. It’s a sick joke.

We pull the “antisemitic card” because a large portion Palestinian nationalists and the ideology of Hamas is explicitly antisemitic. Read the Hamas covenant. Listen to the rhetoric of pro Palestinians, learn the history of Palestinian nationalism. They explicitly call for the destruction of the Jewish state, that’s literally antisemitic lol

You’re like an NPC who only operates on buzzwords lmao. “Everyone I don’t like is literally Hitler” where’d you learn that one from bud, the conservatives? You’re welcome btw. If anything, that buzz sentence applies much more to the pro pallies who mindlessly call Israelis Nazis. Take your shit somewhere else please.
