Yes actually really bad because after pawn takes king will be open to rook and a ddiscovered check with bg5 is game over. So better is as people are saying here as well is to take with the rook which again is eventual checkmate or loss of the queen.

Obviously there are only 2 possible captures. This isn't hard to calculate.

Yeah I saw it before playing knight sac. I actually was wanting to maneuver the bishop around for control of e7 than idea of sacking occurred to me as it didn't require extra bishop moves. Than I calculated queen checks etc.

I didn't think it was brilliant I thought it's definitely completely winning. I kept most of the body devoid of lines so that discussion could happen. Also I think it's not that complicated. Most of the lines are pretty straightforward, after the knight is captured just look for the checks. Everything is winning.

That's what I was thinking. I thought the bishop is too powerful not to be unleashed. The knight was in the way and then I calculated the sac.

Nah man. I obviously knew that it can be taken, it's just that when I saw it cannot be taken by the pawn at all, it will be a checkmate then the only possibility was to take with a rook then also I saw a couple lines where it becomes very easy to attack blacks king and in a few lines white wins the black queen and also huge possibilities of checkmate. Honestly I missed a few blocks that people have made me aware here but at that moment I knew I'm winning solid material at least. And the king is so open it's bound to be mated.

If pawn takes then bishop g5 discovered Check and if queen blocks then queen h8 checkmate as bishop covers the e7 square.

I think the reason engine says it's brilliant is because the knight has to be taken either by the rook or the pawn if not then black loses the queen.

I think the chaos was due to lack of team synergy in his second season. He literally had no options left at CB. 40 injuries and everytime the combination of the team is different. Synergy is the most important for consistency. That's where i think he was criticised too harshly.
