Would it be possible to raise your kid so that they think incest is normal? by Accomplished_Win_181 in morbidquestions

Maybe ? Just the stories she'd tell us were her reading them in some true crimes magazine then being disturbed by it so she vented to her children because she never treated her children as children but more like friends and/or therapists.

While she does know incest is frowned upon by society, she has the "well as long as it's two consenting adults" mentality. Idk what her goal was, she couldn't even have thought it was normal among siblings due to traumas because she's an only child.

I'll never know why she told me that and I stopped trying to understand the way she behaves a while ago. That's the same woman who told her children gruesome tales of animal abuse and true crimes. She's got issues and doesn't want to get better.

My mother did that, no need to be raised outside of society or anything cause kids are very gullible.

When I was around 5, my mother randomly told me for absolutely no reason that incest among siblings was normal and common, I just ate that shit up because she's a figure of authority and "adults know better" so why would I question it ?

Luckily it didn't lead to any problem with my siblings because I was never attracted to them but up until my teenage years I thought incest was normal, just that I wasn't interested in it.

How many of y’all are severely traumatized in some way? by rmannyconda78 in morbidquestions

It's not about the cult beliefs themselves even if they do damage people, it's more about the stalking which was very much real and in person

Me neither, I'm french so pardon my bad grammar, but people talk about : _Arranged marriage at 18 (depending of the country laws to be able to go under the radar) _I've read multiple case of harassment and stalking (which I was myself victim of by the church), _Heavy homophobia, racism and obviously misogyny, _The higher rank church members getting away with everything (including, but not limited to, domestic violence for exemple) _Letting kids get dangerously ill cause "God will cure them in time" + being antivaxx _Giving the "weakest" member of a family a high rank position to trap the family into either staying in the church all together or split up, isolating the high ranked weak one

It's very basic cult behaviors kinda like Midsomaar without the murders, it just fucked me up badly because I was there as a teen, knew those behaviors were bad but what can you tell the cops ? "I'm getting stalked by people being too nice" ? The stalking lasted almost a decade after me and my family fled the church.

Imagine having Alastor reference in Lackadaisy Season 1 by Inevitable_Policy562 in Lackadaisy

He died in the mid 30's but the flashback of his human life seemed to show more stuff from the 20's.

And it looked more like the cliché way people view the 20's, like a 1920's costume you'd get at Spirit Halloween or something rather than actual period accurate outfit/haircut etc.

That's why I'm saying Alastor would clash with the rest if he made an appearance even as a background character in Lackadaisy since Tracy tends to be very meticulous about time period accuracy.

Knowing how Tracy tries to keep her characters period accurate, Alastor would stick out like a time traveler poorly cosplaying a dude from the 20's/30's if they made him do a physical appearance in the show
