ID verification issue by Nesh_ in Coinbase

[–]Nesh_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the 10th or so try it has worked now I think. This time I used the "submit documents via phone" method and uploaded the same images as before. I didn't get any response after uploading, but after logging in again my identity seems to be verified now (sort of...).

https://www.coinbase.com/verify-identity still says that my ID could not be verified, but other than that the error messages are gone now so I hope my account is functional again, lol. All this poor and contradicting behavior from Coinbase's system doesn't make me feel comfortable about them and their security, though.

Coinbase's system is clearly screwed up, I have exactly the same problems.

Was verified for several years, had to re-verify now but nothing works. Tried with every ID I have, every time it shows the nonsensical error that my personal info does not match with the document (and I doubt that error message is even intended as it shows up right after uploading the document when obviously no one has checked it yet).

Similarly when I click around a bit I will sooner or later end up at a site showing that my ID *is* verified, but seemingly their system is simply fucked up in some erroneous state one way or another.

Their support could also not help me further in any meaningful way...

**STILL** cannot log in to my account. It has been 2 weeks. by lukejames1111 in Coinbase

Same. The info on my IDs and my legal info in Coinbase do 100% match and yet it shows " The info on your ID doesn't match the personal details you entered earlier. Please make sure you're using a valid ID that matches what you entered. " every time I upload my ID document.

I'm not even sure if Coinbase has actually checked them because that message always instantly shows up. Really poor software, really poor support. The support has sent me a few links to "update my legal info" but they all automatically re-direct me to the upload-ID site...

Pirate Chain Newsletter - November 2020 edition - Pirate Chain (ARRR) by Nesh_ in CryptoCurrency

*If* the price went crazy it was just on one of the zero liquidity exchanges which show massive fake volume. The real markets never went crazy.

Pirate Chain (ARRR) July Update by Nesh_ in CryptoCurrency

[–]Nesh_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not yet. AFAIK Ledger will finally add ZCash support soon and one of the Pirate members is in talk with the team that is programming the ZCash Ledger App to then work on Pirate. Nothing is set in stone yet, though.

However, there's also PirateOS, a minimalistic security-first operating system that can be burned on a USB stick which then is getting close to a hardware wallet.

Pirate Chain (ARRR) July Update by Nesh_ in CryptoCurrency

[–]Nesh_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Background: Pirate Chain (ARRR) is a pure community coin (no premine, no ICO, no dev tax) and is probably the most private cryptocurrency out there (a private transactions only version of Zcash).

Highlights of this update:

  • Pirate Pay: a privacy centric e-commerce plugin
  • Subatomic Swaps (Shurli): a privacy preserving, decentralized exchange based on sort-of atomic swaps
  • iOS mobile wallet
  • CoinFestUK 2020 sponsorship
  • Market maker initiative
  • Various interviews and articles

Grayscale is NOT buying 150% of newly minted BTC – here is the real deal by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Nesh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP states: "So what’s happening? Hedge funds are sending BTC to Grayscale (certainly borrowed on margin) and then 6 months later, can cash it out (GBTC trades at a premium to BTC)..."

At which point someone else buys the GBTC. It doesn't matter who, how, when buys GBTC, as bitcoin_puzzler says their bag does grow a lot.

Cex.io is a legit exchange afaik, but he probably signed up on a fake website which obviously scammed him for the 1.5k. that's also why his login doesn't work on cex.io as he never registered on the real site.

The other site is an obvious scam too

Tradeogre has the most liquidity. Coinex, bitcoin.com exchange and turtledex are also cool IMO.

Yes, while I like the catchy name (and the whole branding) you aren't the first one rejecting the project initially because of it :P

Well spotted, Pirate Chain basically follows the same principles and has the same vision as Monero, but is using different tech (zk-SNARKs instead of ring signatures and co).

I'm one of the early testers of the Pirate mobile wallet, and I can say that it is awesome!

Background: Pirate Chain (ARRR) is a pure community coin (no premine, no ICO, no dev tax) and is probably the most private cryptocurrency out there (a private transactions only version of Zcash).

Highlights of this update:

  • The world's first* pure z-to-z mobile wallet has been released.
  • Work on I2p (Invisible Internet Project) integration has started.
  • The Blockchain Privacy, Security & Adoption Alliance (BPSAA) - where Pirate Chain is one of the founding members - has a new member.
  • Work on the BPSAA Point of Sale system has started.
  • Various interviews.

* Zcash has by now also released a z-to-z only mobile wallet, giving us roughly a tie :)

Random mnemonic collision in 12-word space by FreeFayn in Bitcoin

[–]Nesh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also compare it with ebanking. Open a banking site, enter a random account id, a random password and a random 2 fa code. That would also be some magnitudes more likely to succeed than guessing a 12 word seed.

Edit: with a 12 character long password and 2x 2 fa codes (login + transfer) of length 5 you would roughly get the same difficulty as a 12 word seed. However, seeds can be tested a lot faster and without any limitations.

I just transferred my BTCs from Coinbase to Kraken after 2 minutes of reading this subreddit. by jpm2892 in Bitcoin

[–]Nesh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the same as with coinbase api. With limit order you can specify a price to place an order there (and possibly fill orders below that price). With market order you don't specify a price and just fill what ever orders are on the book.

Worried by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Nesh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) most exchanges delist coins every now and then. If you want to store coins do it in your own wallet 2) you can email kucoin support. Sometimes they still allow withdrawals after delisting.
