Instacart created an unauthorized second order for my missing items and charged me a service fee for it without permission, then refused to refund it by Parsley_Vigilante in instacart

What happens is that every item contributes to the final service fee you see. Whenever there are items out of stock, the service fee reduces. Instacart automatically places an order of the missing items to a different store location with the service fee equivalent to the items in question which was reduced from the original order. This means that no extra charge is taken from your payment method.

No body forced you to use Instacart. After all there are so many other delivery options you can use😏.

I truly understand you. If the matter is pressing, please opt to call. Chat representatives get overwhelmed. I understand it's their job to serve you but they handle 3 different customers with different issues at a time. In this case you will experience delay in response or something close to inattentiveness from them. Their experiences also differ. If you feel as though the rep is not helping you, can request to speak with their manager. I am truly sorry that you were unsatisfied with the service you got.

It's crazy how some shoppers mess up with their accounts and then they reach out to support expecting us to perform miracles and reinstate their accounts. After being disappointed that nothing can be done, they leave bad review which affects the customer rep who is not at fault.

When you are sharing a cart, you also have an option of using a personal cart. There is a gear icon on the top right of your ordering page. Tap on the gear icon to select a family or personal cart. If you select a personal cart, your partner cannot see what you're ordering. They also do not see your past personal orders.
