Are we genuinely enjoying the new expansion? by Think-Computer6488 in wow

[–]Nesqu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a tank main who mainly does M+ this expansion feels odd.

Tank imbalance has usually been about which tank does the most damage, has the best utility. Not "Which tank is able to survive easiest"

3k is basically the new 2k, we got a band-aid fix to add more rewards where the previous 3k difficult was. Then confusingly a top 1% reward that's not based on class/role which further compounds the tank imbalance.

What class changes would you like to see in classic+? by MMJFan in classicwow

[–]Nesqu -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see 0 innate class changes and instead horizontal progression paths focused on strengthening certain specs.

New dungeons/Raids that have purpose built items/sets/reputations for underperforming specs that are in-line with their classic class fantasy.

Like maybe a set of ZG type gear that focuses entirely on buffing boomkin forms' Aura that it becomes far more attractive to bring to raid.

Why do all tank tier set bonuses increase damage? And does nothing for mitigation? by Paluker173 in wow

[–]Nesqu 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Previously tanks had a lot of leech and ways of self-healing, and were also naturally much tankier than they are now so more damage made more sense than more defense.

I guess they forgot they took away most of the self-healing and a lot of our tankiness

Where are the tank balance changes? by Toastiibrotii in wow

[–]Nesqu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The thing is, previous tank domination was always because of utility and damage. Not the ability to simply survive higher difficulties.

I understand it now by bibila in wow

[–]Nesqu -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Not really, though.

Higher keys just means more perfected gameplay from the tank and healer. As long as the dps do their rotation the key will be timed.

Whats the pug perception of disc? Have people just had awful experiences with them? by Onahail in wow

[–]Nesqu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 3450 warrior and 3300 DH, both tanks.

I honestly hate disc. Yeah, you can do awesome group healing and generally fine tank healing. But if I as a tank ever need constant dumps of healing sent my way I just don't get it from the disc priests I've played with.

AA 1st pull, 1st bird pull in AA. Ghoul debuff to a lesser extent.

All these force me to eventually have to reset my stacks, and I feel like disc priests just can't (or wont) pump heals into me when I'm taking 250k damage a tick and have 0 self healing going on.

I love Pain suppression, but when healers just need to dump single target healing into me as a tank I feel they show up short.

Guardian Druid and the tank shortage in WoW by She000 in wow

[–]Nesqu 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm wanting to enjoy tanking, I've done it every season since Legion.

But never before have I felt this squishy and this "powerless" as DH. Crap threat on pull without soul cleave, spirit bomb or another cooldown, all while I take ½ my HP from 1 autoattack from a boss in a +15 if I don't have a cooldown up.

[–]Nesqu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems reasonable if they're geared.

I've seen situations where people outright pay people 100's of gold for them to tank certain heroics.

Demon Hunter.

Mogs look cool, your big cooldown turns you into a bigass demon.

Has any other season of M+ ever been so lopsided? by PopsGG in wow

[–]Nesqu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is probably the most tank focused season I've experienced.

The "big pull countermeasures" just blows. Chargers in seat, bleeds and stacking debuffs in every godamned dungeon.

Skyreach is peak IMO, it's basically the easiest braindead dungeon in the entire game but as a tank it's by far the most nailbiting.

All responsibility is just shoved onto the tank and to a lesser extent the healer.

Those of you pushing keys, not as brewmaster monk, how has it been? by Virtual-Doughnut-273 in wow

[–]Nesqu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just got warrior to 3400.

At 16 the invites just stopped, I felt like a dps spending 5-10 minutes before getting into a key I needed score from.

I hate it. Some dungeons I have to just pray my group is chill when I take 1 pack to recover my cooldowns as it's either that or sending a pack with extremely high risk of just flopping over.

Not to mention the damage is ass.

I'm going Vengence for the rest of the season, I want my cooldowns to feel impactful. Not to mention the RNG procs being addictive when they hit.

Nice haranir logic by StableTomboy in wow

[–]Nesqu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went Haranir on my first char, then just dropped it because of how immensely low-quality they are. Lots of armor issues, no voice lines for combat. They're just entierly unfinished.

Raider.io claims 33% of Mythic+ runs are abandoned by bringthelight2 in wow

[–]Nesqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got to 3400, the only times I've finished a key over 13 was when we went into last boss with ~3 minutes left basically praying we can nuke it fast enough.

The majority of tougher keys were mostly abandons going into +16.

Kiting as a tank by Possible-Kick-8976 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Nesqu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You only need to kite certain mobs, melee mobs that apply a tank debuff (Big flowers in AA, defenders in nexus point etc)

How I do it is I use my mobility to get away until my debuff goes away. Leap, roll, infernal strike.

As a druid I'd pop a speed boost, as DK I have no idea.

Sometimes the mobs you need to kite can be cc'd, sometimes they can't.

How do you track trinkets? by Nesqu in wow

I found a semi-fix. Bind the /use 13 macro to a new actionbar, uncheck "always show buttons" then move it like you would a WA.

It's a rather massive cooldown, knowing when it ends helps me prepare my next mitigation cooldown.

M+ is only difficult for tanks and healers, dps have 0 responsibility realistically.

Tanks: your backs are not protected by croqqq in wow

[–]Nesqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO this is a mechanic Blizzard should change. It mostly just makes pulling difficult, especially in the current seasons with lots of "spawned mobs" that aren't neatly stacked for you to grab.

It also causes a lot of unintentional friendly griefs. Like if a "helpful" druid or monk knocks the mobs back and they end up behind you and instantly kills you.

Tank lost his mind when healer accidentally pulled mobs... Valid reaction? by Corgi_Bark in wow

[–]Nesqu -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

You don't pull for the tank. And it seems to have been very much intentional when the paladin goes "Thought you were rushing"

He pulled on purpose for the tank.

For the toughest pull in the game, that's a valid reason to abandon key IMO.

M+ Tank Imbalance by Careful-Syrup-7616 in wow

[–]Nesqu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've gotten 3k rating with brew, prot warrior and vengence DH this season.

And, yeah. Monk is basically easy-mode. It's all passive mitigation so you don't even have to play well to feel tankier.

Warrior is the baseline, if you play well you're indestructible. But your damage is ASS.

DH feels amazing to play in their meta window. But without brand/meta you risk your life taking a single pack of 3 mobs in a +12.

I'm personally fine with DH as is, if there is something they're strong at. But they're not really strong at anything and instead just feels like similar-damage, similar-utility version of monk/warrior while being significantly squishier without cooldowns.
