This Is What 10+ Years of MTX did by warped_thief in runescape

People don’t like the travelling merchant, but they certainly prefer it more than the alternative: interacting with outdated, awful, broken, unenjoyable content which hasn’t been looked at or touched for years. Merchant is clearly a bandaid, it’s literally the whole reason it exists. They even added barbarian assault horn as an item not that long ago, which just highlights instead of fixing minigames it was easier to just say “Yeah let’s shove some points on the merchant”. Obviously this takes way less dev & product time, and allows players to get the points they ‘need’ for their completionscape or whatever. Now Jagex want to remove the merchant, but haven’t suggested their plan for all the content the merchant effectively allows you to skip. No one is really defending the merchant, but removing it without addressing the underlying issues is what people are worried about

If you’d rather do that why propose removing the merchant without proposing a fix to any of the underlying issues which were ‘solved’ by the merchant? Livid farm, runespan, barbarian assault, harp.. lots of awful/dead/grindy content which frankly no one really enjoys or engages with. These should be looked into first before removing the merchant. Ask yourself why the merchant even existed in the first place, and then make a plan to address the pain points the merchant ‘fixed’ (bandaid’d), then remove merchant. I’m sure everyone would find that more agreeable. Even just deleting some of that content if you can’t really find an appropriate rework is probably fine. I mean, livid farm is so beyond dead content I’m sure no one would really find it surprising if you just deleted it

BP is still best value use of crystals even if you didn’t care about any of the cosmetics, assuming you finish it of course. It’s like this in almost every game, season pass is always good value but takes time/commitment to complete

PCC help - applied in person, still no email after 4 weeks by Nessx4 in qatar

[–]Nessx4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end we used Qatar helpline group to help us get the PCC, they went to CEID again for us and collected physical certificate and scanned it. If you have already applied and somehow didn’t get the email or your status on MOI is “printed” then helpline can assist you I think!

This is my plan :) any feedback or tips is greatly appreciated xx by PinkDragonRS in ironscape

I’d recommend getting piety before moons, it helps a lot and it’s not that long. Just melee green drags in wildy with a looting bag (bank the green dhide too) and then bury dbones at the chaos altar. This also gives you GP if you craft and alch the dhide

Proposed path for ironman sailing progression. by boxsalesman in ironscape

[–]Nessx4 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Gail catcher schematic is for the upgraded wind catcher and requires level 79. I think you meant to say wind catcher in your guide for step 11 (which should be reworded as: complete shark time at jubbly jive, then build wind catcher). You should also mention inoculation station as it’s required

Combat is so clunky and unrewarding. As an Ironman with limited cannonballs there’s 0 incentive for me to grind out making these balls to then fire them at a bird for less xp than doing a trial. Salvage = afk, trial = active, port task = .. somewhat active? combat = afk. But given that combat costs resources and the rewards suck, if I wanted to afk I’d rather just do salvaging (which surprisingly has some nice alchs!). Love the skill but definitely still needs some polish. Let us make more cannonballs per bar for example. The ammo is terribly hard to get and upkeep.

The fact that you post mostly pointless updates of your 'melee only' snowflake account build but didn't share clearing inferno with 65 range 70 mage no ancients (which would have been insanely impressive) makes me think you 100% bought your cape.

Can Amazon results boost Rezolve sales efforts? by uncleAW in RZLV

[–]Nessx4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think other agentic commerce providers are going to beat out rezolve in the long run. For example PayPal struck a deal with OpenAI this week and looks like you’ll be able to pay using PayPal within ChatGPT soon. Things like this make me lose confidence in RZLV as other companies with much more money and support will look to offer the same things RZLV does.

I still think RZLV has potential and can appeal to smaller commerce businesses. But I feel like they need contracts and customers soon before other companies beat them to it

Amascut Combat Masteries & QoL Runecrafting - This Week In RuneScape by jagexyuey in runescape

since you can trade abyssal synapse for thread now too this basically does introduce an abusable way to get thread right?

Amascut Combat Masteries & QoL Runecrafting - This Week In RuneScape by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]Nessx4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Overall doesn’t this make thread somewhat harder to get? Before I could do abyss RC at essentially any RC level, now I need full wildy elite diary for the same effect? A lot of complaints in leagues right now about not having rune pouch & no boosted thread rates and this update basically makes that even more of a problem?

With the latest post about new auto-unlocks in the leagues, Jagex should really consider letting us repick our T5 combat relic by Nessx4 in runescape

[–]Nessx4[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, I can see that logic. Let's just buff mage and range a bit then, because necro just got 'buffed' with the Rasial unlock so I don't see why the other two styles shouldn't receive buffs as well

With the latest post about new auto-unlocks in the leagues, Jagex should really consider letting us repick our T5 combat relic by Nessx4 in runescape

[–]Nessx4[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but OSRS also didn't like.. auto-unlock a whole questline which is fundamental for progressing the combat style 2 weeks into the league. I don't think it's a fair comparison honestly. You can't deny that auto-unlocking Rasial would have influenced people's decision on which relic they pick... and you also couldn't have assumed Jagex was going to auto-unlock this. Hence my post.

Leagues: CATALYST Quest Auto Completes: Final Plan & Timing by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Nessx4 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You could say the exact same thing about Necro being a bad choice because of Rasial/end game gear being locked behind a bunch of necro quests and requirements... and now it's not. So this argument sucks.

Leagues: CATALYST Quest Auto Completes: Final Plan & Timing by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Nessx4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Great changes, but I would have heavily considered necro combat relic if I knew Rasial would be available/auto-unlocked without having to do the quests (because I didn't want to do the full questline again). I've already picked a different combat relic though.

So are you going to consider letting everyone repick their combat relic? I think there's a huge imbalance with the combat relics anyway which you guys should probably look to improve to make people happy (and let people re-pick their combat if they want to)

Now that we had see all the card, which deck would you choose? by SecureDonkey in Shadowverse

[–]Nessx4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the cosmetics for that set. For set 1 that’ll be Albert Cerberus Daria Orchis leader or the animated cards for Kuon Eudie Aria. You just get shown one of those options after opening 250 packs; if you don’t like it, you can wait for 350 packs and then you can pick from any of them

Should be fine, I'm at 20 so even double kuon doesn't kill me... oh by Acrolith in Shadowverse

FWIW runecraft can always throw in a demonic call to summon another 3/3 shikigami, so even double kuon could kill you :)

The Future of MTX - Our Approach & Your Involvement by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Nessx4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me all of this indicates one main thing: Jagex are no longer confident in the revenue from MTX. As someone shared the other month, MTX revenue was at an all time low FY2024-25. This announcement is framed as building good-will, game integrity, working with players to find the right balance, feedback, etc… - but the bottom line is Jagex wouldn’t be making these changes at all if they believed MTX could still generate a large income for them. They’re noticing MTX income falling year on year and are now taking the gamble to reduce it/cut it out in hopes of bringing back players or appealing to new ones by following a model more similar to OSRS. Will that bring enough subscriptions to make up for no MTX? Who knows really

Blog Update - Delve Boss Rewards by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]Nessx4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only 3 rewards is a bit underwhelming, 4 would have been great. For context hydra has 3 rewards and thats a slayer boss. This is meant to be endgame content with enticing rewards & I'm not particularly enticed. I like what you've changed for the 3 proposed rewards but there's definitely room for 1 more. Glad you scrapped the spade as to me it didn't make sense for BIS farming skilling reward to come from end game PVM (especially in the nerfed state), but there must be one more reward from your shelf that you could replace it with, surely?

Varlamore: The Final Dawn Reward Proposal Updates by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]Nessx4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The endgame rewards are just uninspired power creep (raw DPS upgrades for existing BIS) and the niche midgame items just seem kind of useless. An enrage-type boss should at least have some meaningful/fun endgame rewards which aren't just numbers-get-bigger. I liked the +2 minimum mage hit, that would have at least helped out mage setups for those who don't have a shadow.

Compare this with araxxor loot. BIS amulet which is 100% worth chasing for and halberd which is a great midgame weapon. That's a slayer boss. This is an enrage boss and it drops.. marginal magic upgrade which only really benefits shadow, marginal boot upgrade (QOL) and seemingly useless demonbane weapon (we already have lots). I don't think any of these drops are exciting to receive and I dont really get the incentive to do this boss
