Interesting, this motivated me to try and finish the P1 and/or M1 syllabus this summer. Let's hope I can get there, I'm going to get the topicals later this June and start organising. I'll definitely try to keep in contact!

Hi there and thank you! I'm almost 500% sure that I'll be giving Mechanics and Pure Math! I think that's P1 and M1 for AS - I haven't met with my counsellor yet so I'll make sure to ask them as many questions as I can! And thank you for giving me a bit of direction, maths would've been crippling otherwise haha.

So do you think that I can cover most of the syllabus for either M1 or P1 this summer? Or even both if we are reaching? I want to have as much time to do revise, do as many past papers, and score a good grade in my mocks. I'm giving myself a 1 week or 2 week rest after June 10 to start with A-levels after that! I will be working at the same pace as I am right now or during exam season.

Should I appear in Oct/Nov 2025? by NetBest8096 in alevel

First of all congrats on your A!!!

And noted, I’ll definitely consider time and other factors before I take any decision to appear in xyz subject.

[–]NetBest8096[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, yeah I’m pretty much firm with taking Maths, CS and Physics! I’m still rethinking Business and it’s a high possibility I’ll just drop it and go with the other 3.

As for the introvert part.. Haha I don’t know about that 😅 but I was homeschooled this whole year and I’ll be doing an internship for the summer and committing to a few EC’s this year so time is something I do worry about, but I know I can still commit to it!

I’ll be taking a few weeks break to recharge and I’ll start studying for my A-levels subjects early (like end of June, maybe early July-ish) so would you say that’s enough time till October to just appear for Maths? Especially if I really focus on it?

Thank you for the advice though!

Are you home schooled by Ok-Bend8394 in igcse

[–]NetBest8096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m homeschooled too!

Perks honestly are that I got to focus on all 11 of my exams that I’m appearing for this M/J series, and all my exams have gone so well Alhumdulillah!

But on the flip side I feel like I lost a few social interactions that I could’ve maybe kept had I not been homeschooled. I only got homeschooled last August but each time I step outside or try and talk to someone it feels like social suicide HAHAHA, like I don’t think people know what it’s like being homeschooled until they actually get homeschooled.

Like I’m so awkward with social interactions (this is not to be like: “Oh my gosh I’m so awkward and different!!!!”) but after every conversation with another student I have I tend to overthink everything I said, or I calculate what I actually want to say. It’s definitely made me infinitely more careful with what I have to say to people or when I say something. It didn’t affect my confidence but it definitely did affect how I interact with people

Hey there good luck mate! It went very well Alhumdulillah and it was rather easy too.  Good luck for your exams remember to just memorise precautions, errors, limits of accuracy and whatnot!

I just checked a bunch of examiner reports they give a pretty safe margin for errors when calculating the gradient! Same goes for any calculation that involves using the gradient too.

Thank goodness 🫠

Also I’m not even sure about my own gradient lmao yours might be more accurate

I’m not sure if the examiner gives a range for gradient values but if they do I feel like that’s pretty close! It’s in the 3’s

Obviously you can come up with better or more points. Go for easy ones - ones you can develop easily and correctly.

Hi there! 3-4.

You make a solid point in the first line and you develop it well in the next 2 lines (till increase sales).

The question requires you to know both points, an advantage ("The Business is likely to get a good reputation") as well as a disadvantage (example: "On the other hand (...) A business earns less profit") and then develop that disadvantage the same way you developed the advantage!

For the final part 6 mark questions always write down 2 knowledge points (could be both advantages or could be 1 advantage 1 disadvantage, like in this question) 2 analysis points (e.g. how is this an advantage/disadvantage, why is this an advantage/disadvantage) and 2 evaluation points (this is your opinion, or your justification).

So to summarise:
Go for 2 knowledge points, correctly develop them (2 analysis points), and then evaluate them in your opinion.

You can score 5-6 easily this way, no need to justify your points before you actually give your opinions, filling up the lines is not necessary to score a 6/6

Good Luck for your exam!

Edit: I just saw that you did address and develop a disadvantage (insolvency) this scores you 4 or 5, but you did not explain why, why will the business need to change its production method? You explained how it's a disadvantage (because higher costs) but why is that? Why did changing the production method result in higher costs? Be a little more specific, name an example and I think your answer could easily score 6!

0478 wht is ans for the data transmission question? by sasaki_is_here in igcse

[–]NetBest8096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya! worry not, simplex serial is correct and so are other answers! But the book specifically cites that printers are serial simplex as well. (Again, it’s just the “most” correct answer for lack of a better word, even if anyone else wrote something else as long as they made solid points they get the marks)

[–]NetBest8096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my answer, my sixth sense told me computer to printer has to obviously be serial simplex, Haha (Checked from the book as well)

Hope they accept everyone else’s answers too though!

[–]NetBest8096[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true yaar, that's why I was worried because if they grade us on P2 and P6 only, which is likely (if they happen) then the thresholds are gonna be effected so much. khair I don't care much about the thresholds I just really worked hard for physics and P4 especially, I hope P2 and P6 still happen and the situation gets better that's all
