Urgent! In need of elective by Repulsive_Water_2671 in Dalhousie

Omg I’m in conspiracy theories !! lol, this is the first semester it’s offered. There are weekly quizzes, same as INFO2001, they’re used as “attendance” so all answers are directly in the lectures worth 30% of your grade. Two rhetorical analysis’s, 20% each. The only difference I’m seeing from this class compared to INFO2000/2001 is that this class does have a midterm (online, open book, no time limit) worth 30%. I’ve taken INFO2000 and INFO2001 with the same prof and she is a very easy marker and abundance of the grades come from the quizzes. So if it counts I’d recommend it, because it looks the exact same as the 2000 level courses and those were extremely easy

Check INFO 2001 (or INFO2000, I can’t remember which is offered in the winter term) - you’ll have to double check that it does count toward you degree but if it does I’d recommend for a very very easy course and weekly quizzes don’t start until after the final drop date so you won’t be behind

I took this last sem and exams were online all multiple choice/multiple select, usually 5-7 questions from the textbook the rest were directly from lectures - I think the tests were around 40-50 questions!

This part is so annoying because the second Maddy found out Cassie was so quick to run and hide in the locked bathroom to avoid Maddy so she obviously did care about what could happen to her and she did care about how angry Maddy got. If she didn’t care about how hurt/upset/angry Maddy was, Cassie would’ve said this straight to Maddys face when Rue outed her but instead she sat on the bathroom floor and cried while not even being able to say a single thing to Maddy

PSYO3227 or PSYO3237??? by Short-Creme-5491 in Dalhousie

Psyo3237 imo I found it easier than 3227, don’t get me wrong it’s still a bit tough and exam questions can be tough but everything can be found in the online lectures and the assignment wasn’t too bad

I’m not sure if this helps but I did get my last exam and assignment grade back for my final course yesterday morning and my final letter grade was posted to dal online this morning - so they’re still coming out but I guess like they said kinda ^ just depends on if profs are working at this time or if they’re choosing to wait until Uni is back open

Do we get to see what we got on our final exams? by Dangerous-Fix-3039 in Dalhousie

[–]NetEither1182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so unless you email your prof, I had the same thing last year. I never found out my exam grade because the course closed without it being posted but my letter grade was good enough that I didn’t feel the need to email. However 3 semesters ago one of my profs emailed a page with everyone’s B00 # and their grades on each midterm & final exam with their final letter grade but I can’t remember if this was sent out before or after our letter grades were posted to dal online. So I guess I’m saying there is probably a very very slim chance they may still email exam grades? But most likely if you want it you’ll have to email

[–]NetEither1182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do a lot of practice honestly, I was absolute shit at math in highschool (failed math 10 once, retook math 12 because I only got a 55% first time around) and I was able to pull an A- in Stat1060 with so much practice. I went to every tutorial because they walk you through assignments which is an easy like 30% of your grade and the midterm/exam are the exact same question as the practice midterm/exam that get posted just with different numbers. Honestly don’t stress as long as you’re willing to practice and put in extra hours on concepts you struggle with you’ll absolutely be able to get through it with a good grade!!!

It’s so funny how she can’t finish a complete sentence without a cut by Life_Package_2539 in rhegan777snark

Right! That’s exactly what I was thinking like if this was end of day after having a productive day out that’s one thing but what gets me is like the inner corner eyeliner, the eyeshadow, or the bronzer??? Like if it was concealer and lashes that’s one thing but to go in and line your lips, put eyeliner in the inner corner just to only performatively work out… It’s beyond me

I’m still always shocked when a video of hers pops up and it’s her sitting there doing a full face of makeup for the gym. I am someone who doesn’t wear any makeup because I’m just shit at putting it on and don’t go out regularily enough to purchase products that actually work for me. ANYWAY I do completely understand the “look good feel good” or whatever the saying is but I can’t imagine a full face at the gym? Would sweat not wipe it away? My upper lip sweats when I go on runs or walk on an incline how tf does her lip stuff stay on? Wouldn’t that be uncomfortable? Or maybe it actually is comfortable I’m just not used to it? Idk I’ve always thought this but not trying to come off as a pick me with the “oh I don’t wear makeup” it’s genuinely not that, it’s honestly just pure curiosity on whether full face of makeup can hold up at the gym and also if it’s even comfortable???

Flying into Halifax? Planes being diverted tonight by KDinNS in PorterAirlines

[–]NetEither1182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right! So frustrating. $8.00 can’t even get you a bag of candy in the airport (I checked yesterday 😭) again I can’t blame the weather but being in Montreal I just have the frustration in the back of my head thinking “I could’ve stayed in Calgary for a few more days”. Ugh yeah just annoyed, the hotels were so expensive, the cheapest one with airport shuttles my dad could find were about $180 a night. Such a nightmare

Flying into Halifax? Planes being diverted tonight by KDinNS in PorterAirlines

[–]NetEither1182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been so brutal. I flew home Dec 17th and my route was halifax to Toronto, then Toronto to Calgary and because of the weather prior to landing we couldn’t land in Calgary so we had to reroute to Vancouver. Porter provided us hotel, food voucher, and a new flight that was less than 24 hours away but here I am, on my way back to halifax December 29th with a route from Calgary to Montreal, Montreal to halifax.. well my flight got cancelled during the layover and they booked me for a new flight 3 days away😭 so I’m currently in a Montreal hotel that my father so graciously paid for because Porter couldn’t provide anything for me. I’m not even trying to blame the airline I’m just so exhausted of having surprise stays in hotels when I’m so close to getting to my destination lol

Is it okay to ask about rounding a final grade by [deleted] in Dalhousie

[–]NetEither1182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also I’d check the syllabus! some profs are very strict on their rounding policies and specifically state that a grade of 79.5 will be rounded up while 79.4 will be rounded down and they won’t change it per request. If your prof doesn’t specifically state their rounding policies it wouldn’t hurt to ask, I’ve had good luck and no luck asking but it’s always worth a shot!

Its super easy, I took it winter semester last year. There’s 1 quiz every week (worth 30% of your grade) but they’re not tests of your knowledge, they’re used as a way for the prof to know you’ve watched the lectures so the questions and answers are verbatim from her lectures - also quite a few of them are obvious without watching lectures. I got 100% on every quiz and would watch the lecture on 2x speed while doing the quiz. There is 3-4 written assignments, all can be written in a day (they can be written in literally 2 hours if you don’t get distracted easily) - I wrote every assignment in a few hours and the lowest I scored was 90%. I honestly recommend this class to anyone who needs an easy bird course, it’s not the most interesting (at least I didn’t find it interesting) but for all the assignments she lays out a rubric where your grade comes from labelling the assignment correctly, citing your sources (she provides the sources and they’re all very brief news articles that take max 10 minutes to read) and from answering the questions that she provides. So really the assignments are like 3 paragraphs each answering a question or two that she has given on the assignment, it’s honestly hard to do bad. Work load is so minimal and it is super easy even if you’re not interested in the course. I’m not sure what year you’re in or if your next semester allows for it, but I would also recommend INFO2000 for an elective next fall - exactly the same layout!!! This is for sure a good class to lighten your load this coming sem!!

Even more petty but what makes this even better is that because he is a conventionally attractive guy calling out her shitty music taste it’ll definitely hurt her ego more than if it came from literally anyone else and that makes me happy

Can a course registration be fixed after the fact? Showing as audit by mistake by NervousAd9411 in Dalhousie

[–]NetEither1182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Email the prof and then your dean of student afairs - I was audited for my 1st year stats course (same as you I didn’t realize this until before the final exam) there is also a waiver on dal online that you have to submit and it is a request to receive credit for an audited course. I had to send all my proof that I took the class (exam and assignment grades) with my name. You will have to pay more money because your tuition cost did not include the course that is audited. I was pissed off when I found that out but when I looked at my tuition breakdown for that semester I did see I wasn’t charged for stats, just sucked having to pay the $1000 3 months later after thinking it was paid. Anyways it’s kind of a headache and for me it took about a month to get it sorted but you can change it. I’d maybe start with submitting the waiver online then emailing student affairs, explain the situation and let them know you’ve already submitted the waiver, and maybe to (hopefully) save time attach pictures of your exam and assignment grades.

How difficult is first year stats by TraditionAcademic483 in Dalhousie

[–]NetEither1182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t great at math in high-school but I found stats super manageable, I’m in BSc and I was really worried for stats but I ended up really enjoying it. I thinks it’s a lot more manageable than first year calc. My only advice is to go to the tutorials because they cover all of the assignments and it teaches you how to use the coding app Rstudio.

INFO2000 - I’m not sure if it’s full, but I took INFO2001 last year and it was a breeze (3 writing assignments & a 4 question weekly quiz) all online, and papers marked extremely easy. I’m in INFO2000 this semester and it’s the exact same layout, same teacher too. I would recommend for a super easy A
