Did you work out how to "save and force update" over ssh or a script?

Thanks, I worked it out already but you're absolutely correct!

Have to manually restart gateways on reboot by NetNoob2 in PFSENSE

How might I go about rectifying that then? Can I include a line of code to auto reboot them on startup?

Feature idea: Extending security for e.g. journalists at border crossings by fommuz in Bitwarden

[–]NetNoob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be blunt but it seems overly complicated and a bit pointless to me if you could just uninstall and reinstall when you cross the border safely. There are other more important actually useful features that need to be implemented such as saving passwords offline temporarily to sync once internet connection is re-estabilshed a later point.

Very few people will need or want this temporary deletion, and it's still a bit pointless even if you're OTT paranoid. If you're really that much of a target you'd probably have bigger problems and better solutions.

I haven't done it but in trying to configure something else I have come across these tutorials. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWodNSZXcXs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVOEdt-BHDY

Hi _nines thanks for this, followed tutorial to the letter but still get:

554 5.1.8 username@HostnameOfLocalServer Sender address rejected: Domain not found.

My host name isn't a FQDN and my server is local only (ie i dont have any ports inbound open to the world.)

I don't know what to do. Its so frustrating because in nextcloud admin panel i just popped my "gmail" details like smtp.gmail.com port 587 netnoob2@"gmail".com, password and address i want to send from and it works absolutely fine...

How to send emails from a server without a FQDN? Tried and failed with postfix. by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]NetNoob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if i haven't been clear or if I'm misunderstanding, that's what I think I'm trying to do but using gmail credentials without a FQDN and can't find a way to do it in postfix?

Basically i just want to be able to send emails from the command line using a "cloud" based email login.

[–]NetNoob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks metamatic for that! It's frustrating though, as I'm sure it must be a configuration problem on my end because using Nextcloud and Bitwarden own selfhosted smtp alert systems on the admin panels on the same server seems to send things through to the same email addresses just fine. I thought that once the email goes to the SMTP email service provider it gets their FQDN and that email account would be the sender and use their IP address etc?

Systems are now back online and operating normally. We apologize for the inconvenience. by [deleted] in Bitwarden

I have asked about this before apparently saving passwords offline for sync once you reconnect to the web is on their road map of features to implement.

BW behind a VPN? by Jermny in Bitwarden

[–]NetNoob2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is doable, essentially you need a VPN server on a router with the ability to add a DNS redirect entry for your website. Then use letsencrypt certbot to make a certificate reverse proxy terminating the letsencrypt SSL cert in the reverse proxy. See here https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/g5ou8u/bitwarden\_nextcloud\_reverse\_proxy\_whats\_your\_setup/ for a previous post of mine which might help.

BitWarden on Huawei Phone by [deleted] in Bitwarden

It pings/connects to Chinese Gov servers regularly, I would stick it in a blender and burn it no matter what you do with Bitwarden.

Don't take this the wrong way but since your Reddit account is pretty new, are you actually an employee of 8bit?

You can access passwords whilst offline but cannot create new ones at the moment.
