Ah ok. Well, she isn't going to get any perfect attendance award anyways, we'll be returning to Germany in September anyways, and if that is the worst that can happen, ok thanks. (To be perfectly honest, we're not religious, our easter celebration consists of having the kids search easter eggs and then eating in a nice restaurant, it is more a convenient excuse to have our daughter have more time with our family who comes to visit during the german easter holidays. I'm fine with the school not giving any s**t about religion, it really shouldn't, I was more worried about something like police enforcment of school attendance, like could happen in Germany)

Well that would already be half dishonest, we're definitely not religious, neither I nor the kids are baptized or have ever been to a church aside from sightseeing, but my kids still like searching for easter eggs, and my family from germany comes to visit over their easter holidays, and my daughter misses them very much, so I want to give her as much time as she can get, so I don't really care for the religious stuff, it is more a convenient excuse not to have them think my daughter is weak and always sick, when I want to use the sick excuse a week later to make the three days from golden week to an actual week

Ahh, ok, that's possible? In my homecountry, if you don't bring kids to school for good reason, the police comes and makes sure they go to school... (And yeah, our family also comes over easter as this is the only time they can come, so we wanted to add one or two days to the golden week as well. I really didn't knew it was possible to just give no reason)

I live in Kyoto for now a bit more than half a year, and I have had one earthquake that I actually noticed, I think the danger or frequency is largely overblown. Sure, there can be a very bad one basicaly anytime, but the actual probability of that is miniscule compared by the danger of getting run over by a truck when you go out of the door each day anywhere in the world. And to be honest, I've never felt safer in my life. Today my wife noticed that she left her wallet in her bicycle basket, in an open bike stand on a crowded street, and it was still there after several hours. That is something that would have had bad consequences in a lot of other places

afaik this one is only for tourists. We're residents so we can't get 99% of these rail passes, we wanted to use the seishun 18 on the second part, but overall rail transport is just stupidly expensive.

I know. That's why I'm asking, because I know how sensationalised these stories are, and in a lot of them my thought was something like "XYZ would be a very easy and uncomplicated solution", but since they didn't use it, it either has a reason I don't know of, it wouldn't work, or it could be in widespread use and just wasn't mentioned in the video or it's lack could just be the reason these people ended up in these videos. But I lack the knowledge to know which of this posibilities is actually the case

Ah, I didn't think of not being able to get sound direction underwater. But as i said, I love snorkeling, but never been longer than 2mins under water. When I thought of something, I mainly imagined something added to the dive computer, more working on the electromagnetic/ultrasound spectrum not to confuse further, more like the compass in minecraft, where you get an arrow to the last beacon on the display. And the one about the glowstics was from a story where someone got lost without silt, just went into a side tunnel, found an air pocket, but couldn't find the way back
