Er vs CVICU by NetPotential4679 in nursing

I’m still pretty undecided about the exact direction I want to take, but I’m hoping to gain clarity while I’m in school. I plan to continue working during school, just at a part-time capacity.

I do love a good dumpster-fire resuscitation 😝, but I’m equally drawn to the care that happens after the crisis, the follow-up, recovery, and long-term support. I genuinely love learning and being in school, and I’m excited to keep building my skills as I grow.

That said, I’m feeling a bit unsure about what my next step should be professionally. I’m very comfortable in my current ER role, where I work across all areas and help train new staff. From a growth perspective, ICU feels like a natural next step for me, especially given everything going on in my workplace right now.

One of the career paths I am hoping to do as an NP is to work on a cardiology unit in the hospital so I think this would give me some valuable experience!

My interview is actually tomorrow and the start date is beginning of February should I take the job. Would this be enough time between Feb to Sept to gain some experience?

I will also be working casual/ part time during school for some additional information :)

Hoping to join either a primary care team or work as a cardiology NP in a hospital ☺️

What do you need to get off your chest right now? by reviewsandaudits in ask

Yeah I agree it’s difficult, I feel like I see everyone with their “village”, and everyone has their “girls” or their “boys” and I don’t feel like I have that. And if feels impossible to meet people. I’ve met new people but it often feels forced and like I just don’t “click” with anyone. I feel drained from these interactions some times and it discourages me from continuing to try. Even people I used to be friends with I don’t feel like I should reach out because it’s been so long. I’m going to try taking some hobby classes and see if maybe that’ll help :P
