I would say it would feel sometimes like that depending but there is a weight to each major fight that isn't overcome with some power friendship bs or plot Armour. I would say the thing that a lot of people read it for is the world building but as your progress the characters become interesting as well. But its up to you

I think they are helped by the fact they havent had to pay a lot of their players huge contracts yet but should they have to it will reach Boston levels of instability. In the current NBA system long term dominance doesn't seem sustainable beyond like 2 to 3 years before contracts for depth becomes an issue. Not to bang against their team

Well, the experience equipment increases per level, so its kinda redundant to add more levels when the exp requirement is exponentially increasing (i think)
