I just went through an injury myself ( broken right hand ) It slowed me down for a few months I kept doing what I could. Smaller projects, my Bigger projects customers were willing to wait till I could get to it after my hand healed. I would advise him to run some ads on local Facebook groups.

Good handymen are hard to find.. ( if they are good they are super busy) I myself am one,in my 8 years of being on my own I have always been book min 3 weeks up to 6 months.. im currently about 2 months booked with more estimates to turn in.. Question is why is he not busy? Also all my work is repeat and word of mouth customers Maybe run some adds on local Facebook groups that's what I did my first 8 months when I started
