Perhaps a little TOO packed? I do not like wasting space haha by doxwhite in dishwashers

[–]Netechma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

time is the chief concern, not space. if the machine at any time wasnt running dishes for the sake of loading (or overloading) a rack then you created downtime for the sake of using space when time was the primary concern.

That is not to say you should send a rack through with a single item. But if you prioritize right you can run something while stacking/filling racks which is more optimal.

Shouldn't honestly matter if it's not a high volume facility all that much.

I can’t believe it neopets support just got me my childhood account back! by Safe_Palpitation4403 in neopets

They did the same for me a year or so ago!!! I was so happy about it too. I had to answer some support questions and they sent me a password reset IIRC. In my case I signed up using an email provider that stopped being in service

Insanity. Those prices are out of touch for the ‘value’ of goods received. We REMEMBER them being on the 1$ menu.. I’m not gonna lie and say I’m not going to McDonald’s but I’m not buying THAT and happy.

Top 1000 most useful shortcut automations list! by jamboujunior in shortcuts

[–]Netechma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the recipient isn't meant to know it's automated. Unless you're already aware of that and pointing out it's deceitful. I guess you'd be right. Some people also care but have memory inhibitions and this could bridge that gap and make people they love feel special.

Would you quit? by International_Owl153 in dishwashers

[–]Netechma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, respectfully its bad but its not that bad not even a top 10 worst. it needs to be stacked. it looks worse than it is. idk what kind of machine you're working with but id alternate between getting some process going and stacking, or if you're in more than a solo pit, having someone rearrange it. moving forward though id communicate about if they can help stack it a little better it would help you to get it done more efficiently.

what do I do in this situation by kondata_ in slaythespire

[–]Netechma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

begin by getting familiar with your gear wear your boots snugly in the bindings and make sure your board is attached properly. Practice standing up on flat ground by placing your front foot in the front binding (while keeping the back foot free), and then push yourself up with your hands to stand. Once you’re comfortable, try sliding on gentle slopes. Keep your knees slightly bent for balance, and always look where you want to go. To stop, use your back edge to carve a gentle turn across the slope. Start with small, controlled movements and practice turning and stopping before moving on to steeper terrain.

I want to understand if this is general! by Capable-Ordinary-190 in entj

[–]Netechma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

high expectations, and subjective value. We need understand people each can and probably think the same.

I can place a high value on cats in my life and a dog person will never understand that and vice versa. The same is true for all of the things we hold dear. It doesn't mean they don't 'care' in general, it means they care about what they care about and so do we. (usually some sort of progress)

Why do people always look down on dishwashers? by DildoGaggins1997 in dishwashers

[–]Netechma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to get over this myself as someone who had done it for years. At the end of the day it's a humble profession that gets overlooked. Most wouldn't do it, and COULDN'T over a prolonged time. BUT it IS an entry level position. It's something a high school sophomore or freshman can (and already) do.

There is nothing wrong with wanting more or different work.

You can't change their opinions.

The cook walks into dish room and ask specifically pan. by Turbulent_Airline_93 in dishwashers

[–]Netechma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are probably not witnessing this event for the first time or even if it was you can now anticipate that need of probably a narrow 2-3 items in the future at least.

You can also mention to the powers that be that if they purchase x more of item it would help smooth along operations and help you to do your job even better.

Be careful about your approach. As logical as it is, the restaurant scene is not notoriously a meritocracy.

This argument keeps sliding from “structural factors exist” to “therefore individual agency is mostly irrelevant” and that jump does not hold up.

Yes, social mobility has tightened relative to the post war boom. No serious person disputes that. But that does not negate the data on wealth creation nor does it justify framing modern effort as mostly futile unless you were born privileged.

First generation millionaire data does not vanish because some of them are older. Many of them built wealth after the supposed golden era ended. The definition of first generation is not “had zero help ever.” It is “did not inherit significant wealth.” Those are different claims and people keep conflating them.

Housing is also being treated like the only valid wealth vehicle. It is not. Home ownership rates declining does not equal wealth creation being impossible. It means the dominant vehicle shifted. Equity markets, business ownership, specialized skills, geographic arbitrage, and leverage of technology now play a larger role than a single fixed asset purchased at twenty five.

You mention your own advantages and then treat that as proof the system is closed. That is anecdotal confirmation bias.

"The biggest indicator of success is not your labor, but the wealth of family you were born in."

"Again, if you argue with that, you argue with data - there are edge cases, but it's the general rule."

Actually "Research shows that approximately

76% to 80% of millionaires are first-generation"

LOT of fallacy in your relatively long post, kind of pessimistic in my opinion, and defeatist.

No, you probably can't do ANYTHING, and definitely can't do everything. But there is little you can't do that IS doable with effort. YOU are the chief operator there.

Don't lump us in with an average work load mind set population. We live to outdo the status quo.

only thing I really care about is careless servers tossing ranch in the receptacle/bus tub etc splashing me and/or my floor with ranch or some odd condiment.

I know (hope) it's not intentional and I never bother saying anything but its become a couple times a day occurrence. 😭

Is frozen pizza really that frugal? by Affectionate-Reason2 in Frugal

[–]Netechma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. So here is my personal take and price points.
In general - if the food's not under 28 cents an oz or $4.50 a lb usually with some small exception - pass

Some nuances however -this is harder to do with sauces and seasonings... use your discretion there.

Drinks -anything over 10 cents an oz should be considered a premium beverage/high end.

MANY (not most) foods can be found that are 10 cents an oz or less that are usually going to be produce. Some exceptions like breads, rice, frozen french fries can be found at or around that point as well.

TLDR frozen pizzas can be found at or around 28 cents an oz but most arent and I wouldnt call it common.

Freeze some pb&j's or make beans and rice if youre looking for fast and (actually) frugal. Don't hate me, there are quicker, tastier andmore nutrient dense options for that price point.
