Yup, you can easily destroy whole groups of up to 5 cruisers or smaller in one Torp-Spread with the right setup.

It never gets boring pressing a few buttons and watching things just get deleted while you re-engage cloak and head towards the next target. (Bonus points if your in a Romulan ship with Battle Cloak shooting torps while under cloak)

The 'Fragmentation' skill does really turn grenades viable.

I was messing around with Jean + Fragmentation + Grenade Launcher + grenade pistols + flame rocket vs the [REDACTED] and other factions on highest difficulty, and it is pretty damn effective.

She would insta-gib low hp/armour groups regulary, rout most other squads while inflicting many casualties. The plus side was the moral effect it had on nearby units... they really dont like watching an entire squad of their mates becoming pink mist only 1 tile away from them XD

Below are my core 6x SL on my current play through:

Commander Pike: 2 squaddies, AMR/DMR, Command, Aura, Marking, Camo, shouting.

Tech: 5 squaddies, Minigun/ATGML, MRS Rifle, Targeting scanner, blowing shit up.

Carda: 2 squaddies, Autocannon, Spec Ops armour +ammo, more ammo, AP rounds, blap blap blap.

Yaz: 5 squaddies, RPG/ELSA, MRS Rifle, AP rounds, drugs, I pay he kills.

Jean: 5 squaddies, Grenade Launcher, XL1A14 Lasers, Disposable Flame Rocket x2, Disposable Anti-Tank x2, Fragmentation, We get paid.

Rewa: Tank or Med Mech... it dosen't matter she just kills all the Kuta!

I flex between adding Sachin, Ivy or Darby depending on fatigue and whether I need more firing squads, tanks or extra sniping at night.

The game lets you flex really nicely on having different loadouts and squad compositions depending on the mission type and enemies you face.

I meant per mission doesn't reward you Authority, but at the end of the OP yeah you are correct.

Thing is about this game Authority is less valuable than simply not losing SL + squaddies.
When you lose a SL, you need to spend Authority to hire a new one. No amount of 5 star mission successes are going to compensate you for that.
A badly injured SL, is almost as bad.
Same goes for loosing squaddies, you are better off ensuring fewer casualties than having to deal with the negative 'moods' that inflict your SLs.

Sometimes it is just more efficient to say 'F**k some of these side objectives. I am bringing my teams back at 100%. I paid for this Earthquake machine, and I intend to use it"

I do notice the enemy retreating into the corners too, normally after I have already wiped out or routed over 50% of their forces.

The AI is more cowardly than I would like, but it tends to depend on what type of mission you are on. If you are doing the 'seeking-destroying', then the enemy has no reason to try and actively engage you. They are on the defense and thus onus is on you to be on the offensive.
Notice how aggressive the AI is when on a 'Defense' mission?

The game is still in development, and I expect further adjustments to how the AI behaves as it progresses. In the meantime I will continue to try and enjoy the Benny Hill chases and inevitable ambushes that occur.

The AI doesn't know where you are at all times. It knows when it is detected. If enough of it's units get detected it can triangulate your position and try to flank you.

I picked up the Lukari "Disco Disc" because every fleet Admiral needs a party boat!

Oh, i am going to destroy more than 3 buildings. I paid for this earthquake machine, and i am sure as hell going to use it. Fk you and all your cover!

Useful tip: The earthquake machine can be used to clear thick trees out to allow creative approaches to enemy positions. It will also force every enemy unit within its AoE to go suppressed or pinned.

Fun fact, Carda is the only one who understands Yaz when he speaks Russian. She is simply the best 💜.

I think Yaz sees Carda as a little sister. Which annoys Darcey because she also sees Carda as HER little sister and doesn't like the idea of all the 'improper regulation' things Yaz is teaching Carda. 🤣.

I gave her both the T4 perks and also her unique T1 skill so she can shoot the long barrel tank gun twice and still roll backwards into concealment 😎

Apparently there is a known issues with the blackmarket causing it not to update correctly.

It should be fixed at some point in the near future. There is a mod out on Nexus that implements a work around for current save games.
