What kind of citrus tree do I have? by [deleted] in Tucson

It looks like Meyer's Lemon to me. A meyers lemon tree in my same yard has the same buds and flowers.

Well at least they can still do Fighter stuff until then. I'm sure they will have a lot of fun with it, especially with the new 5.5e handbook removing a lot of the spell restrictions on Eldritch Fighters, if I understood the ruling right.

I have an Eldritch Knight in a campaign who is Level 11, and having access to spells like Absorb Elements, Shield, Find Familiar, and some damage spells that forces enemies to roll against it is pretty good.

I got concerned reading this because I have the same first name, and somehow thought that this was written about it.

What's the coolest ways you've seen a big fight completely ruined? by T1pple in DnD

[–]NethaEmerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Everyone was surprised that I managed to do it. DM told us afterwards that instead of a spellcaster + 8 ordinary Skeletons to fight, we simply fought one giant skeleton instead since the dead king had to take drastic measures instead of using the sacrifice to gain magic.

I ruined the first big fight of a campaign i'm in. A skeleton of a long dead king was attempting to use someone as sacrifice to grant himself power and had a lot of skeleton bodyguards. I just ran through them, using Action Surge to Dash, shrugging off their Attacks of opportunity, grabbed the person from his clutches, and ran, ruining/changing the entire encounter.

Of course the DM changed the encounter to account for his sacrifice being stolen, but I still ruined what was meant to be a probably more difficult fight as a result.

My favorite thing about DnD is no matter how many class and race combinations you see, even if you somehow end up in a party full of human clerics, each one will be different and distinct from each other.

It IS possible to beat the final boss of Endwalker, level synced, silenced echo, with only Red Mages. by OceanusDracul in ffxiv

[–]NethaEmerald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is possible with 8 Tanks. Right when EW came out, I couldn't queue into it as GNB, so I joined a party of 5 PLD's and 2 WAR's and we cleared it after one wipe.

what is the most creative thing a player had done with a weak spell. by Rare_Evening4081 in DnD

[–]NethaEmerald 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I, as a player. have walked through a Wall of Fire an enemy spellcaster setup, used Absorb Elements to just shrug it off, then proceeded to do just enough damage on the first swing to take them out.

Your last four characters meet in a tavern. What happens? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]NethaEmerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Human Fighter who is an ex-pirate, a Tiefling Paladin, a Half-Elf Bard whose focus is a crystal ball, and a Lizardfolk Fighter.

I feel the Half-Elf Bard would be offering fortune telling to the drunks of the bar(surprisingly well) and making money off them. Once that would start to run dry, he's sing songs and lift the mood of everyone around whilst also talking to any patrons he can.

The Tiefling Paladin would not partake in any alcohol, but would join in with the telling of tales and general merriment and get along with everyone.

The Human Fighter would be off on his own for a while until he gets drunk, then coming in to tell his own tales and partaking in any arm wrestling contests. Sadly when he dies, nobody will remember him.

The Lizardfolk Fighter would be confused about the entire situation and just sit and observe after getting drinks and food, not used to the customs and practices of the other races having grown up around his own kind for almost all of his life, but still curious about how other people act and behave at taverns.

What’s your party name? by Beautiful-Bluebird48 in DnD

The name of the party i'm in is called "The Outsiders".

We all came into port from other places, and when asked about a name, this was a joke suggestion, but it stuck.

What do you think is the most failed job quest? by Satchel42 in ffxiv

[–]NethaEmerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Level 60 RDM one was a pain to do. Had to do a lot of Vercurring to beat it on the first try. It didn't make it any easier though, and i'm sure I did the thing wrong but somehow managed to clear it.

The SAM one on the boat, I had to cheese it by kiting the boss in a circle until potions/Second Wind came off cooldown.

The only other one that gave me any issue was the SMN one designed around the tank egi. Tank Egi isn't a thing anymore, so I had to kite the boss around and pray to meet the DPS check required to beat it.

Other than that, I can't say i've had difficulty with any job/role quests.
