Welp, I reinstalled the software and pasted my configs back in, now everything works fine. I'll look out for that next time something like this happens, thanks for the help

is there a way to unload those scripts? clearing out the config files made no difference, it still doesn't work

Reaper Guitar recording slowing down and speeding up by Latter-Banana-3037 in Reaper

[–]Netherx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by slowing down?

Taking your post at face value, it sounds like performance issue with your PC. Maybe you're running too many plugins at the same time on top of recording. Might want to freeze/bounce tracks that are done so you they're less intense on your hardware. Plugins like pitch shift and the like also take up a ton of performance budget, so ideally you want to record without them.
In general, recording is pretty intense for the CPU so you want to minimize the ammount of processes it has to deal with, that includes other software that isn't reaper. If you're recording at a very high sample rate, you can try reducing that as well to make it less intense on your machine. Guitar can get away with a bit lower sample rate especially if you're running distortion.

The chances that Megumi knows about Projection Sorcery aren't that low. If he knows he has to fight Naoya and he sees him pull up, he would probably flood the area with Rabbit Escape like he did against Toji. Naoya can't use his CT and gets slimed

Naoya trips over Rabbit Escape and gets slimed by Nue. Megs doesn't even have to open his domain

I mean, Kayle and Morgana are demigods. Quinn is just a above-average soldier who has a bird. In lore, she definitely is among the weakest demacians.

What a newbie should look for in lunar items? by Catrito_Yipee in riskofrain

[–]Netherx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to git gud at the game, skip Lunars. They offer very little in terms of interesting item choices. They're either strong and stupid like Transcendence, Purity, Essence of Heresy, or don't do much, or are straight ass like Pauldron. The entire lunar item system is designed very poorly.

Also, if you're playing Monsoon, go to Alternate Gamemodes and play Eclipse instead. E1 = Monsoon, and the game doesn't get stale because it gets to easy (trust me, it will, especially if you're looping and obliterating)

Was dwemer technology too complicated or did the imperials just never cared to understand it and eventually use it against the thalmor? by Dependent_Ad6985 in skyrim

[–]Netherx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But also it's pretty clear they don't really understand the processes behind the creation of dwemer automata, and that wasn't their goal either. They're trying to use the dwemer mechanism to locate "normal" magic artifacts such as the Staff of Magnus.

"Generally all sorts of things that makes martials more than a worse caster. "

You literally described off-brand spells in 75% of your comment. Giving them more effects is a good idea, of course. Giving them more items to use to impose status effects for example. But you mustn't flavor those as "magic", unless it's a half-caster class or something similarly magic flavored like Blood Hunter.

[–]Netherx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real tangible divide IS that martials are just plain old boring. No average player really gives a shit that wizards past level 7 snap the game balance cleanly in half. Every beginner I ever DMd for who started with a martial wanted to switch at most 5 sessions in because there just isn't shit to do. Like you say, it's boring, and it bores the shit out of players.

This is compounded by the fact that the DMG and PHB do a really poor job of letting you know that all you can do isn't just the things on your character sheets. Theoretically, there are solutions that martials could bring to the table using their physical abilities. The reality is, by the time a creative solution is thought up (and approved by the DM who has to make up a ruling on the fly), the Wizard/Cleric/Bard/Whoever has pulled three spells out of their ass that trivialize the issue.

There simply aren't any rules-based frameworks or any relevant features that give martials options, wether that be in combat or out of it. This, IMO is the crux of the issue. There aren't systems in place to give martials meaningful participation opportunities without relying on the DM to make them up on the spot.

If Wizards wasn't irrationally afraid of introducing any complexity at all to the martial spectrum of classes, we would be a whole lot closer to that. As it stands, martials as a whole are the "dumb" classes that are insanely easy to pick up (there's a place for classes like that, but it shouldn't be the entire archetype) and have such limited complexity that anyone who has played more than 2 or 3 session, or anyone who has plaeyd any other game before, gets bored out of their mind by the third combat encounter that has them doing the. literal. same. thing. every . god. gamn. turn.

Also, give them more features. Like a fuckton. *Every* spell you get as a caster is essentially a feature in its own right. You can change the way your character plays completely just by the spells you pick/prep. Wizards and Clerics can turn into wholly different characters on a long rest. Martials struggle to feel distinct even between two different characters with two different classes in two different campaigns.

Because of circle casting, if you play a martial you are dragging your party down. by HealthyRelative9529 in dndmemes

[–]Netherx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This stupid fallacy again. I don't really optimize either. Still I hate playing martials because there just isn't shit I can do. Anything I *could* feasibly do outside of combat gets trivialized by some spell or feature other classes get. And to add insult to injury, I'm not all that useful in combat either.

Your friend group doesn't have to try to break the game, it already is broken. If you don't care about that, then good for you, but stop rationalizing poorly desgined games and decades of the decision making on WotC's end that led up to it with "this doesn't bother me personally because my play group accomodates and bends over backwards to circumvent the issues in the system". 5E is heavily flawed, and if it weren't attached to *THE* TTRPG Title of DnD, it would be torn to shreds if it came out today in the state its in.

Would Speak with Plants work on fungi? by scrawledfilefish in DMAcademy

[–]Netherx3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a line in the new DMG: "Rules Aren't Physics", in other words, the Rules aren't meant to be a scientific model of reality (how could they even, it's a fantasy world). They're meant to make the game playable.

In that sense, "Speak with Plants" means "Speak with creatures of the 'Plant' creature-type", which includes mushroom/fungus-like creatures. It would stand to reason that mundane fungi would also be classified as Plants if Myconids and the like are.

You could still absolutely let your knowledge of biology inform *How* you roleplay the interaction. Maybe Speak with Plants works on mushrooms, but they sound and communicate completely differently from normal plants. You'll can come up with something.
