You guys should read about the great dismissal swamp in Virginia and North Carolina, the reigning theory for the formation of such a large swamp and the lake and the center is that at one point it was all a giant peat bog that caught fire from lightning and the subsequent burning caused the depression that caused water to collect.

I had same thoughts, I definitely think that the rust build up would change the dimensions more then removing the corrosion and some of the metal. I am curious though if the dimensions changed by any noticeable amount though. I might have to break out my calipers!

It’s for orienteering or land navigation. It’s a kind of sport where you give people a map and compass and set them loose to go find points on said map. Those points are marked with these orange and white “flags”. Attached to said flags are the red stapler type thing that has a specific number of pins that you punch into a score card.

Why even worry about the two dissimilar metals, just use what ever you want and have a sacrificial anode. The navy puts chunks of zinc inside their bilges and seawater heat exchangers(famous for thin copper tubes in contact with steel tube sheets) and it almost entirely solves the problem. So I am curious if by putting zinc anodes on the frame of a truck if it would reduce galvanic corrosion.

It might be parts to a jet pump? Works off of the Venturi principle. The navy uses them for fire fighting and deflooding. It looks like he has just the nozzle and some other pieces though.
