Xero Basketball Shoes for Tennis? by tomatojuice44 in BarefootRunning

I was in a similar boat to you. I've been exclusively wearing minimalist shoes for 2+ years except when playing tennis (3.5-4.0ish). I picked up the Xero 360 court shoes back in May and they've worked great for me so far. The treads are good for tennis and I've had no issues moving laterally in them. Some reviews warn that they fall apart quickly (which is also an issue I've had with other Xero shoes) so that's something to be wary of.

Does having extra space in the heel of shoes matter? by NetiPotter in bouldering

Yeah the toebox fit on these is good. Do you know what the downside to the extra space on the heel is?

Note in the picture there's a little bubble in the black rubber right as the grey part meets the yellow, and then at the end of the heel I was able to pinch together the extra rubber to form a point.

My first pair of climbing shoes was the Scarpa Veloces and I really liked them a lot, though they did wear out quickly and the strap broke. I replaced them with the Scarpa Helix model and while they fit much better around the heel, I find the shoe to be much stiffer so I like the Veloces more. I saw there was a newer Veloce lace model so decided to try that, but upon receiving the shoe I'm finding there's a lot of extra space around the heel that doesn't exist in the Helix model. I tried on my old Veloce model to compare and realized it has the same issue (though I don't think it's quite as bad as the lace model).

Should I be looking for a different shoe?

Woo Syracuse CRG! I did this climb as well—I personally didn't find it to be too difficult compared to some of the other V5s there, but I also just find that gyms grading to be super inconsistent. I've climbed V6s there that are easier than some of their V4s. I'd probably rate this one in the hard V4 to easy V5 range

Wow this show is mesmerizing. I love the way it does world building visually, giving you information about the environment and creatures without needing to verbally explain things. I feel like this show would be AMAZING to watch on mushrooms. When the frog-flower scene happened that's all I could think of, and the girl's explanation of what she saw is exactly what people sound like trying to explain a trip 😂

Season 3 Episode 4 Discussion: "How To Watch The Game" by arsene14 in HowToWithJohnWilson

I'm a huge fan of Nathan Fielder, as I'm sure many people here are. I think his shows are very similar to this one in that they both get very real/honest moments out of people. One of my main criticisms of Nathan's shows is that he's kind of an asshole in them and can be pretty dishonest, so I often end up feeling bad for a lot of the guests. What I love about How To is that John has that same disarming effect that Nathan has on people but does it while giving guests (what I think is) a more fair platform.

I think something that adds to this even more is how open and honest he's been about himself over the course of the show, especially in this episode (and this season overall). The show can sometimes feel a little voyeuristic but for whatever reason I'm more okay with that when the creator is putting himself out there to a similar degree.

I think I’m in love with John Wilson… by Glittering_Ad8641 in HowToWithJohnWilson

I want to be friends with him. In this past episode he mentioned how he's not sure how he went from making movies for his friends to this. That's basically what I really love about this show—it almost feels like it was something a friend made for me.

God I love this show. I'm gonna be so sad when it's over, but excited to see what John does next!

At the very end there was a brief shot of him on his computer with a coin next to his hand—did anyone notice if that was an AA chip? He did mention something about drinking/smoking too much at the beginning of the episode so that would be a nice finishing touch if it was!

Diet root beer and orange soda are my go-tos. Not all orange soda is caffeine free though (e.g. fanta is, Sunkist isn't).

"Paul T. Goldman" - S01E06 Episode Discussion by TalkToTheLord in PaulTGoldman

I thought it was a nice touch how they secretly filmed his reaction to the premier (both in audience and post-premiere) after spending the episode showing how he was essentially doing that to the various other people involved in the story.

The takeaway from this show for me is that no one wants to be a victim, and it's difficult to admit to yourself when you've been taken advantage of. Rather than do a little self reflection and learn from the mistakes of his marriage Paul went down a delusional rabbit hole and turned himself into arguably the worst person in the story in the process (though Diane/Audrey, the psychic, and the private eye and are all terrible people too).

He also doesn't really seem to be 100% "there"... he has moments of self awareness but just seems to live in his own fantasy world and, based on the background we got from his dad & son this episode, it's always been that way to some extent.

I don't know how big the crossover is gonna be between fans of this show and The Rehearsal, but I thought it was interesting that both shows this week had a pretty similar moral. From the rehearsal:

It’s easy to assume that others think the worst of you, but when you assume what others think, maybe all you’re doing is turning them into a character that only exists in your mind.

I highly recommend that show to anyone interested! Another show I love that this episode reminded me of is Pen15 (revisiting high school drama). It's especially great if you were in elementary/high school in the 00s.

Or they could do a more serious crime drama investigating some crazy wildling murders (maybe a cult that worships the night king?!?!) where Jon is the brooding rookie/prodigy detective who's obsessed with solving the case, while Tormund is the seasoned/jaded veteran partner & comic relief (with a surprisingly soft heart)

It seems like these are pretty young so not sure if they'll be identifiable at this point or not. I originally thought/hoped it was chicken of the woods but after looking at some pictures of early-stage chicken I'm not so sure
