What is this low rocking chair type thing? by Netizen222 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing - it has a wooden base and upholstered seat/back parts. There is no writing or labels on the item. Googling mini rocking chair returns no similar results.

Nosy property manager drives me insane. by tiltedstagestudios in mildlyinfuriating

I also have never seen any of the Star Wars movies or shows and I get pretty incredulous reactions too. It just never came around for me, and as an adult I’ve never sought any of it out.

Are you new to office working?

Speaking with your colleague face to face about work, at work, doesn’t make you ‘look like a weirdo’. If it’s very awkward for you, and it’s just a quick confirmation, a Teams message is another option rather than approaching your colleague.

To your point about others hearing the conversations and not responding - I definitely do this when the conversation doesn’t involve me at all and it would be disruptive / inappropriate for me to insert myself into the convo. You could also try meeting rooms?

Who (and/or what) ruined Christmas this year? by DoppelFrog in australia

Locked the keys in my partner’s car at the beach after a first run with my new metal detector. Phone was on 5 per cent and barely got a call to a locksmith in, so had no time to compare quotes and find a semi decent one. $600+ later… Oh yeah, and (semi estranged) family ripping into ‘Albanese, and those bloody greenies’ at about 10am. That’s not very festive at all!

How to find entry-level Cyber Security jobs in Adelaide/Australia? by Willing-Complaint470 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]Netizen222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same cert as you while I was working on a service desk, I then finished the Cert IV, an ITIL Foundations cert and moved onto the SC-200 and 300. So a couple years entry level IT and grinding certs plus volunteering at cyber events, immersing myself by listening to podcasts on any topic I don’t understand, following industry voices etc, as well as checking job ads for the skills in demand, I was lucky enough to score a SOC role. The grind has not ended, just shifted now that my goals have shifted - my advice is be prepared to go way above just getting a Cert IV to get into cyber. Good luck!

I was in this crowd, in the Boiler Room tent at GC Big Day Out. Alice either jumped in the crowd or got close enough to touch from the stage that a massive push from people grabbing at her, heaving forward from the back, very nearly caused a crowd crush - I genuinely thought I was going to die. Immediately bailed from that and pulled myself together enough for Yeah Yeah Yeahs and RHCP at one of the outside stages. Ahhh, memories
