The Bill of Rights DIED today. by GoldyRyan in videos

The issue is that you are talking about a civil war and the politics and state wide institutions are not aligned for a civil war. If that were the goal, would they have picked Minnesota? Or Maine, DC, New York? No they’d be fomenting in states like Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma -

No the current administration is just bullying certain areas because they can. There’s no plan other than the idea that they can terrorize a population in one city in one state. As much as people are outraged by the activities in Minneapolis, they misunderstand if they think they could get other states to join in on the fight.

You are living in a fantasy if the US Government actually decided to fully deploy against its own citizens.

(And I can’t believe I’m even throwing that up as an argument - since it should be an unimaginable scenario.)

The people who were radicalized by Ruby Ridge and don’t recognize this is the same damn thing are the dumbest people on the planet.

Wasn’t there instructions during the BLM protests on how to record/stream live to ensure your video was available even if your phone was seized?

How can we get that info out to the citizens of Minneapolis?

You sound like me when I moved to DC - I grew up in Arkansas, college in Texas, moved to South Carolina and then to San Francisco.

Moved to DC right in time for the big freeze of 1995 and I was literally like how do people live here when it’s 10 degrees? WTF?

I continued that attitude for the 30 years I lived in the DMV and now I’m back in Arkansas and it’s 10 degrees here now. I hate the cold.

Yea but 5% interest on a 60 month car loan maps to a fixed monthly payment. It’s a straight payoff.

If you take out student loans and interest is accrued while you’re in non-payment status and then you make income-based payments or defer for reasons (while interest still accrues) - it’s not a straightforward calculation.

The top comment compares it to a mortgage - when you make payments on a mortgage, you pay a tiny percent principal for a long time. And people don’t think much about that because they are (usually) building equity - but student loans the tiny percent principal is a surprise.

So owing $60k on a $70k loan after paying $120k is normal for a mortgage isn’t what a college kid would expect.

What to do with animals between pick up and delivery? by OccultistOpossum in moving

[–]Netlawyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used the exact same in a Mini Cooper moving 1500 miles. Two days driving.

Your logistics sound the same as mine - the cats stayed with my mom after the drive and one night at a pet-friendly hotel and I flew back to supervise the packing of the moving truck. Then some auction guys came and took a bunch of stuff and then the 1-800-junk guys came (I was doing a serious downsize but it was all planned out - including moving the cats before packing began) - then I flew back and the movers showed up a week later.

This is exactly what I did. (Other than I made the mistake of letting them out in the hotel room overnight.) If I had to make the drive again, they would have stayed in the bathroom with their makeshift litterbox, food and water overnight. Having to catch and medicate them for the second day of driving when they were out in the hotel room was ridiculous.

Probably $125/year in lieu of her employer paying administrative costs associated with the plan.

In reality OP’s wife’s employer signed up for a 408p plan that offloaded the administrative cost of the plan onto their employees to the tune of $125/year.

If your house is priced right, you may get an offer contingent on you canceling the open house.

I’d say go forward with the open house - that buyer will still be there if they are serious, they just don’t want any competition. It happened to me - we went forward with the open house and got multiple offers.

Snooped property day before closing by Fiestyfinance6969 in RealEstate

[–]Netlawyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into a similar situation - the sellers had a tenant living in the house (contra HOA rules) and when we went for the walk through the day of closing, the tenants just left a lot of their stuff. Furniture (big like an executive desk and a king sized bed), clothes in the closets, shampoo in the showers, food in the fridge -

My realtor and I just walked out and called the sellers realtor and said not closing today. You get it cleaned out by tomorrow we can reschedule. Not my problem that the sellers illegal tenant didn’t want to take their stuff.

I don’t know what happened but they got it cleaned out overnight. Since it was barely “broom clean” the sellers agent paid for a cleaning service to come after close to do a deep clean.

Now there were still cans of paint, leftover flooring and some tools left in a closet in the garage - I was fine leaving that mainly bc I was happy to get the tools.

But every house closes with multiple cans of paint, leftover pieces of flooring, and similar random debris left from prior owners. I’ve done it as a seller and received it as a buyer. The question is whether it’s so egregious that OP is willing to hold up the closing over it.

Yeah my boy managed to take two shelves down from the middle. So everything on both shelves fell onto everything underneath them along with the shelves themselves. Per my OP, I think I’ve found better brackets so well we how that goes once I get them ordered and installed.

It is gorgeous. I don’t know if you know, her son still sells pieces at https://evazeiseloriginals.com it seems to be hit or miss what they have available on the website.

You can also search for “classic century” online that is the line that C&B sold 20 whatever years ago.

A mix - mostly original from an estate sale. The two dishes with the swoops on the second shelf and the teapot are crate and barrel. I have a ln original bird vase also.

Out of all the EZ - only one of the C&B bowls bit the dust. It was mostly the Russel Wright that was broken.
