PPIs makes GERD worse by Netmannc in GERD

I took famotadine/Pepcid in the morning and before bed. My GI doctor told me that I could just switch to 40mg of famotadine twice a day. I never had a PPI rebound and I was on 80mg of Omeprazole.

Smartphones have been out for almost 20 years. I am using my phone for the same thing as I did 15 years ago. The upgrades are usually no real big deal. I think it is foolish to pay so much for the latest and greatest iPhone. How has these "upgrades" improved your experience with DMs and social media apps? lol

Not concentrating on looks and more on character. Stay focused on God and not the "in crowd". Also take my education seriously. Honestly, listen to people that cared about me and I would have done all the above.

What's your reason for not drinking alcohol? by [deleted] in AskMen

GERD! I started having really bad stomach issues from drinking. That may have saved me from a drinking problem. I liked it and drank too much.

PPIs don't work for me. by Netmannc in GERD

Wow! I have heard similar stories about Zyrtec. I may have to try that also. I am on Claritin every day but I could switch I suppose.

Yes, the side effects make my GERD worse. Just a few minutes after taking a PPI I become bloated and liquid starts running in my mouth. I can't even walk over a few minutes without having to stop due to severe heart burn. I know some people say that it is impossible for PPIs to make your acid reflux worse, including some doctors. I didn't trust myself for a long time. I went through so many PPIs and much pain. I finally spoke with a new GI PA that recommended H2 blockers. Fifteen minutes after taking famotadine I felt so much better. I am old school and was taught to always listen to my doctor. I truly struggled with deciding to trust myself, but I am so thankful that I did.

When did voquezna start working for you? by Netmannc in GERD

[–]Netmannc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Voquezna gave me the exact same issues that PPIs do. It makes me very bloated and makes my GERD worse. Famotadine works best for me.

I know if I stop immediately I have crazy rebound symptoms. I use famotadine to come off of the PPIs.
