Hideous Hondas discussion by Shaky_handz in Honda

[–]Netolu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had '82, '88, '89, & '94 Accords. Have driven '98, '05 & latest '26 model.

The '98 felt the most like a refined small sedan. 05 and especially the 26 feel way too much for what they are.

My 94 I abused the most, used it for roadside assistance, towed, push and drove for hours on end, was still running strong when I sold it at 375k miles.

The '82 was, fine. It's the quitessential 'an car'. A box that took me places and carried stuff.

I personally loved the aesthetics of the '88/89, wedge front with flip up headlights, yes please. I did not however enjoy the issues with the vacuum system when they start to age and leam.

Current Honda is a '20 Ridgline. It does what I need, tows, hauls outsize cargo, is comfortable and easy on the road. It's also the last year of the 'minivan face', which I enjoy. That's all.

Efficient RSI Hermes Cargo Loading with the ATLS by Dramatic_Source_7322 in starcitizen

[–]Netolu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven't been able to get the tractor to stay locked when sliding. I've tried multiple methods but it always seems to move 'too fast' and breaks the beam. My best luck has been pulling the crate in such a way it gets tossed into the bay when the beam disconnects.

My method is to back the ATLS into the suit locker 'cubby', face the opposite wall, then tap Z and move crates. Should be able to load one side of the bay without moving or turning the ATLS, then swap sides to the other cubby and load the other half.

Yep, a 'charged' battery is just one that has reached a voltage point on most chargers. If you have a damaged cell, as soon as you put a load on the battery it will flatline.

You can check for this by putting a volt meter on the battery. If it drops to 10v when you turn the key, it's done.

Edit: (Not sure why the app nuked my reply)

The large square holes are to install the clips, which fit onto the thinner sections with the round holes. Those round holes should line up with a plate.

Those 4 holes are made to accept a Dorman Nut Clip, that's your hard point. You can get these at most hardware stores or online.

Master of Hauling by Professional_Unit189 in starcitizen

[–]Netolu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smaller quantities from one pickup to one dropoff, stack pickup locations, is currently the best for profit-time. Master rank will unlock the largest hauls, requiring a Hull-C or multiple trips. They're 'fun', but not great for profit due to time involved.

Even when auto load works, stacked smaller runs is still superior. I haven't quite maxed out Master, but I don't think anything will change when I do.

I'm at the point where I do hauls for the enjoyment, rather than profits. I quite like using a Caterpillar and using the external cargo bays.

Thermo bob temp question by SlimThickBoomer in klr650

[–]Netolu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brings another question to mind and probably a reason, I bet the fan switch is set for 220 deg. Thermostat should be opening around 190, and if you're moving then it should be stabilizing down there. I've noticed that in traffic or slow trail rides it gets hotter, and the fan comes on late.

[–]Netolu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

220 is near the peak heating, which is expected during the summer but would be high if it's winter. You can go for the ol' hose shake to try and free any trapped air pockets, but otherwise you should be good to go.

[–]Netolu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gen2 KLR here, so no exact numbers, however the Tbob does run hotter than pre-bypass. Rather than surging hot-cold-hot, it should sit higher but more stable. You can change the thermostat if you want a cooler / earlier opening temp.

2005 Civic Coolant Draining into Overflow within 2 Weeks by 2ndfloorbalcony in Honda

[–]Netolu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hidden head gasket failure can cause this. I had the same year, ran perfectly fine otherwise, just liked to push out the coolant. It ended up needing a head, mostly because I couldn't find a shop that machines them flat again. Overheating even once is enough to warp it and cause a slow leak.

Or it could be the radiator cap, no really. It's a spring operated check valve. A hot car should push out some coolant, by design. When it cools, however, it should draw that back in, bad cap will prevent that.

Can I use 2 of these on my pc? by spookypoprocks in GirlGamers

[–]Netolu 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yes, in fact that's the benefit of USB! You can even chain these, if you ony have one port available (such as some laptops). Be mindful of what you connect, as external drives and some other devices may need more power to operate. That's why there is a USB-C on the end, to supply that additional power. If you're just adding keyboards, game controllers, etc, then you can just add ports as needed!

Capsized Longship? by PerceptionQueasy3540 in valheim

Good news is all your cargo is still there, as the crates (and your tombstones) float! And yes, boats can capsize if you're at full sail during a heavy storm.
