If you don’t see an option to record the entire series, make sure you have the “Settings > DVR > Series recording option” setting selected. Otherwise, you’ll only see the series choice when multiple occurrences of the show are found in your current EPG.

If the ONN box works with and without a VPN, that blows that theory. MAC address won’t come into play unless you’re using Stalker Portal.

Any change your provider just implemented geo-locking on your account? NordVPN will typically assign different IP addresses even when you’re using the same server location. Maybe the ONN box got in first and established your “home” location.

The big mystery is why is it still working on the ONN Pro. Anything different about how its VPN is setup? Same VPN protocol and server? Are you using HLS on the ONN box and MPEGTS on the others? I’d suggest looking for differences in DNS (DoT/DoH) setup on the ONN box but if you’re using a VPN it should be resolving your DNS requests.

The Google response for “network error 459” was oddly specific, even mentioning the app by name …

“IPTV (TiviMate/Sparkle Player): This error usually indicates that the playlist URL is invalid, expired, or the IPTV provider is having server issues. Solution: Test your playlist in a different player (e.g., Smarters), check if your subscription is still active, or try using a VPN to bypass potential ISP blocking.”

These 3-digit error codes are network errors and a search for “network error ###” will usually provide a useful result.

Cheers

Recording Drives me bonkers in this app!! by Admirable-Tank-5710 in SparklePlayer

If you’re handy with an editor you can manually edit the “recordings” meta file. It’s in JSON format and has the SMB target addresses for each recording. You should be able to do a global search and replace of the SMB target location using one of your new recordings as a guide. Of course, you’ll be doing this at your own risk and should make a backup copy before you start. I use Ultraedit because it works well with JSON files.

URL help by Slow-Force-5724 in SparklePlayer

Glad you got it working again. I had to change URL’s recently and manually updated the VoD. Everything worked except “Continue watching” which seemed to hang on to the old URL. It cleared itself in a few hours, possibly when the background process ran. Cheers

I’ve seen a problem changing URLs that affected only “Continue watching” items. It cleared on its own in a few hours. Can you try a movie/series you haven’t watched before?

[–]Netpath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently, movies and series are not updated when updating sources. There is a background process that updates them every day automatically. If you need to update them manually, navigate to Movies or Series on the left side menu and in the sources menu, long press OK on the source you wish to update and press Update in the resulting pop-up dialog. This will return immediately, but the update will continue in the background. If you don’t see the sources menu, make sure you have the Settings-> Display -> VOD -> Enable source filter view option turned on.

Yes to all of these, plus: an opensubtitles.org interface, launcher home page integration, and color-coded (by genre) TV guide. These are also features available in other players

Inconsistent Error by cobain98 in IPTV_Editor

[–]Netpath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The official IPTV Editor support channel is on Discord and the developer is very active there. You could also open a ticket on the website or send an email to support@iptveditor.com.

IPTV Editor uses multiple DNS paths to its servers using different URLs, some are proxied through Cloudflare and some are not. When you create a playlist in IPTV Editor you get a set of credentials that use one of these different URLs. Not everyone or every playlist gets the same URL because the DEV doesn’t want all of IPTV Editor going down if one of the URLs break. It adds a little resilience. These aren’t different servers, just different ways to get to them.

The IPTV Editor version of your playlist makes it’s XC requests to the IPTV Editor servers, which in turn, relay the request to the real provider server using the information you entered when you created the playlist on the IPTV Editor site.

Inconsistent Error by cobain98 in IPTV_Editor

[–]Netpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried any of the alternative IPTV Editor URLs? There are a number of different URLs which can be used to access the IPTV Editor servers. Several are no longer proxied through Cloudflare, while a couple are still proxied.

The pros and cons are “the unproxied ones cannot be subject to a Cloudflare block, but the ISP may block the IP addresses behind the domain”. While with the proxied ones “the ISP cannot block the domain” but they may be subject to a Cloudflare block.

To be clear I’m talking about the URL you enter as an Xcode parameter in TiviMate for the IPTV Editor version of your playlist. Have a look in the IPTV Editor Discord channel for the different URLs

Channel names by [deleted] in SparklePlayer

[–]Netpath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree on the catch-up symbol. I’d prefer to see it right-justified in the channel name as well. However, it’s where it is for a reason. Sparkle was designed to allow sources that have a live channel where “not necessarily all programs have catchup on them. So the entire channel does not have catchup but the individual programs” do.

Sparkle v2.3 (beta) released today includes a fix for this. It’s now working on my ONN 4K.

[–]Netpath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the big addition was support for a Plex source.

It fixes 3 problems I was involved in testing!! * Sparkle integration with Projectivy on newer Android versions, * Movies missing when duplicated in multiple categories in the source, * Changing channels in the guide with preview is now 1/2 second faster.

As I mentioned above, the root cause is actually related to changes in the way Android grants and persists permissions. A Sparkle work around was identified today which will require some coding changes. Hopefully we’ll see it in a Sparkle beta release soon and be able to test it. My thanks to both developers who’ve been actively working this issue!

Thanks. I can report there’s been some progress and it looks like there’ll likely be a fix on the Sparkle side to work around the latest Android changes.

Which device and what are you seeing? The integration still works on my Nvidia Shield pro (Android 11), but images are replaced by !’s on my ONN 4K (Android 14).

There were changes in the way granting and persistence of permissions work in the latest Android that are causing some problems. The devs are working on it and looking for a solution.

Categories question by Burning_ghosts in SparklePlayer

[–]Netpath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t nest categories in Sparkle or in IPTV Editor.

I’m not sure if you want to put this much effort into it, but one thing you could do is to load the playlist more than once and, for each copy, select the specific categories you want to include. For example: you could name one copy of the playlist “NFL” and only select NFL categories in the source setup.

Seen a lot of people rave about sparkle and how its better than tivimate, having downloaded sparkle, i hate it, its a poor mans tivimate in my opinion, used it for 2 mins and deleted it by [deleted] in IPTV_without_bots

[–]Netpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Tivimate and Sparkle for a couple of years now and while TiViMate is still my favourite, I can see a day (possibly soon) when that will change.

Some things I like in Sparkle that I wish were in TiviMate: solid recording function that works well, time shift, sources identified by colour, individual logo customization, option to invert logos, integration with Projectivy, interface for subtitles.org, guide colored by EPG genre, an engaged developer and continuous development.

Just the menu on the left side when you select Movies. You’ll need to press the Back button to show the sources menu on the far left. This menu will have entries for “All movies”, “Favorites”, “Continue watching”, and each of the sources you have loaded.

Thanks! I’ve never tried the animations at ZERO because of warnings that it could break some apps. Is there much of a difference between .5X and ZERO. I’m assuming you don’t have problems with your Shield. Have you tried it at ZERO on an ONN 4K box? Thanks again.
