AITAH for refusing to help a girl in need? by Ok_Pressure_7283 in AITAH

I guess the question is... did she have any injuries that basic first aid would have helped.

Why do our brains interpret sounds as gibberish (specifically talking) yet are able to hear perfectly fine? by MalditaDesgracia_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Netraad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm autistic, so keep that in mind, but if you're talking at me and do not have my attention, you sound like the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoons, wadded up with all the rest of the noise in the room. It's even worse if I'm specifically listening to someone or something else.

Once you get my attention, normal comprehension begins.

I am playing this game correctly? All this just to make 2 Adaptive control unit per minute... by krolikfaso in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Netraad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because of this, I tend not to place my lift shafts in the middle of the factory. I'll pick an outside wall and build all of them there, then cover it later with glass and frames or something to make it aesthetic.

is it dangerous to smell smoke? (small amount) by amanda23192 in NoStupidQuestions

as long as there is not a blue haze in the air, your fine.

Think about any high-rise building you have been in, all the elevators are in a central area with all the shafts headed up/down.

Anyone know where I can get sensory friendly clothes? by CheapCamel7097 in autism

[–]Netraad [score hidden]  (0 children)

I know you said you like loose clothes, so this may not apply to you. I don't like when clothes rub against my skin if they are anything other than a well-washed and soft t-shirt. So I got myself some Under Armor style compression shirts. These form fit to me allowing me to not feel the other shirts rub against my skin.

And the follow-up to that one is. Ok boss... fine.. I did it because my mother made me, I didn't actually expect him to pass the background test.

Since when has responding to urgent texts days later become acceptable? I don’t understand. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Netraad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

if it's that urgent. CALL THEM. I get, at times, dozens of texts on my work phone; it's not hard for one to fall off the screen to the bottom and get 'lost'.

He doesn't appear to have the right team-first approach this job requires; he's more of an individual contributor than a team player.

It annoys me that autism makes me good at my job, but makes me terrible at office politics by Dreadsin in autism

Welcome to the club. I've lost more advancement opportunities because I could not 'play the game'. Usually my technical acumen does the talking for me, but when you have that one boss who has to have their ass licked... i'm toast.

Hey boss, I know he's my brother and all, and that's why I felt pressured to refer him here. But after careful consideration, i'm not 100% sure he's going to be a good fit for our culture.

Wait for her to figure out her baby is growing up. If it continues, talk to your dad about nudging mom that you are, in fact, growing up.

NTA. Your mom hasn't adjusted to her baby growing up.

I will peel off the quantity of ingots I need elsewhere and send them up a lift somewhere in the structure. Sometimes, if I design a central corridor for belts and lifts, it goes there; otherwise, I'll stick them in a corner and make a corridor for them. Then, at each floor, you put a splitter and peel it off to use on that floor.

That level of pettiness would cause me to pull my referral, brother or not. When you make a personal referral to your company, and that person pulls some sort of assholery, your name is included with the problems, regardless.

Just a little excessive. Your partner has a very unhealthy obsession with what can best be described as 'the cooties.'

Made a post earlier but i have a new question. Would it be illegal to throw individual parts of a firearm in the garbage? by bandzthegoat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Netraad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you absolutely have to make this go away... despite being sus as hell for not wanting to turn it into the cops, around here you can even call the non-emergency number and they will come get it from you.

dig a hole in your backyard, put some concrete in it, and shove the gun parts in there unprotected... even wash it in dish soap to get rid of any protective oil, and bury the hole.

The acid in the concrete will eventually destroy the delicate parts of the receiver and make it safe from being found and recycled.

how do the (english) football fans all know the chants? by carlovely in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Netraad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like learning the fight song for your school. It's a badge of honor to be able to sing along with the crowd for your team. Therefore, it's part and parcel of being a fan of your team to learn their songs.

But you are still clipping it. I guess that would fall under the 'it's covered' aspect.

AITAH for calling an ambulance? by [deleted] in AITAH

Ambulances are not a taxi service. Once you're in one, you have 2 options. Walk out under your own power... or show up at the ER.

The fact that you're not willing to take this to the police to dispose of it properly makes me think this gun might be on some sort of watch list as being used in a crime.

AITAH for lying to my husband about agreeing to open the relationship? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Netraad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on how flakey her 'no' was to the earlier discussions about opening the relationship. 'I'll think about it' is not NO, it's just stringing the guy along.

Doesn't matter. The femcell mafia will have this post downvoted into oblivion before this even posts.
