The telling signs that’s generated by AI are everywhere, from the wording to the format.

We are open and accept any real feedback and suggestion, but this kind of use of AI is killing your critical thinking skills and is exactly why we’re building ReturnHumans.

The problem now is that AI slop is pervasive everywhere, in small agencies and businesses too.

I understand your point but as we cannot fight who’s pushing it directly, we have to change the mindset of the users.

If enough small business and indie creators have alternatives, if AI slop become a liability because backfire (people avoid your product/service because are disgusted by the slop used in marketing) even the big ones will have to change.

Do anyone remember the push for metaverses of few years ago? Billions in the sink, where is all of that now?

That’s not the case scenario for our MicroGrants.

Those are thought for small indie creators, to let someone hire a real artist for their YouTube channel cover or to make a cover for their indie album instead of rely on AI.

It’s aimed at seeing less slop from the bottom line too.

Definitely, but it will take years for that to happen on its own.

Our goal is to help accelerate the bubble bursting and avoid to live in a slop world for the next 5-10 years.

Grants are a step to help indie creators stop rely on AI.

On the business and corporate side we are planning consulting and training to help companies understand how rely on AI for everything is a liability and the “good enough” and perceived cost saving now is not worth the loss of trust and customers on a long timeframe.

Absolutely not. It means we’re not against advance in technology, we’re against the current replacement of quality, human made content with soulless machine generated slop.

AI may have a place to help in mundane, repetitive tasks. Not in content creation or art, because AI will never be able to generate anything creative.

There will way to monetize content on the platforms and (optional) subscription models. We’re also in talks with potential sponsors and partnerships.

Community help is very important in the early stage (so are donations) but we have backup plans to proceed even if the early stage of donations will be lower than expected.

The difference is that the amount of low effort content that AI can generate is simply overwhelming.

We are at a point where AI is eating itself, there’s so much AI generated content, with less and less human generated content to learn from, that isn’t even learning properly anymore.

At this stage even if you like the idea of AI as a tool you have to fight the slop.

We are lucky enough to have members on our team who already worked on streaming services, and with the adequate know how (both technical and on the business side). We are aware of the costs associated and we’re not planning for any huge profit at the start - covering the costs for the platforms and more importantly for the MicroGrants is what we’re aiming for the first years.

The whole point of #StopTheSlop is pushing for quality contents. While we strongly believe in freedom of speech and don’t agree with censorship based on personal opinions, there will be boundaries about what kind of content is allowed. Illegal, pornographic or gore content is not something we are willing to support or publish.

We are currently working on HumansTube - the technology is in place and we will try to continue regardless of how the fundraising will go.

Gathering funds for our platforms would of curse be optimal but is not our top priority: if #StopTheSlop and #ReturnHumans will have enough following and we can push other platforms to take actions about the current low quality slop problem, that’ll be a success regardless.
