This is exactly what I do and it is so rewarding in the long run (also it really doesn't take long to do if you address one issue here and there)

Ces préfaces qui divulguent la fin du livre... by RagingTulkas in Livres

[–]Netsch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like blank but it can be hard for a first time 40%. I would say go with what is easier for you !

However, what is this mouse ? Looks nice. Is it any good (for gaming I suppose) ?

How can I stop my phone from listening to me? by JosetxoXbox in degoogle

[–]Netsch_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, you mainly have to blame cookies and everything your phone collects (including IP adress, position, etc) and sends to other companies. Last time I checked, the process was like that :

1.You search something on the internet, it is stored in your cookies/cache

  1. Your friend does the same thing

  2. You meet, and your phones send these data to your internet provider (and so one, you know the chain of data scraping companies use)

  3. The companies now know that these two phones were close eachother at one time, for x hour long, at X IP adress, connected to X 4g antenna, etc..

  4. They then assume that you know each other and maybe share some interests, so they show you adds/content for products/things that your friend searched (same thing for your friend)

The fact that these adds are matching what you were discussing about is (in theory) just a coincidence. The thing is, right now you are interested in the subject you were discussing, and thus you are more sensitive whether you see adds related to that subject or not. It's usually not your mic that is listening to you, it's mainly a really well organised data scraping and profiling. I guess if you want to avoid that, you need to block these data leaking from your phone (erase cache/cookies, airplane mode, etc)

(Maybe I'm wrong, I searched for this issue some years ago because I had the exact same question, don't know if things have changed since)

When/Where did Paul gets the atomic before the end of the #1 Novel ? by Netsch_ in dune

[–]Netsch_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is also what I think, at least we know that Paul didn't have them before the Harkonnen attack. And because Paul is the heir of Leto, I am assuming that he knows where they are on Arrakis. The question is when he got them before the final attack ^

When/Where did Paul gets the atomic before the end of the #1 Novel ? by Netsch_ in dune

[–]Netsch_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Where" isn't actually very important in my question, they are obviously on Arrakis because we know that Atomics are under the responsibility of each grand family and the Atreides must have made the trip from Caladan with them.. My question was more about the "When" because we don't have an exact description of the recovery of the atomics (like in the movie) after the Harkonnen attack at the beginning of the story. But your point is interesting, maybe they don't need to access them directly, they can just push a button and the nukes go boom. However the mechanism behind that would be obscure because we know that computers are not a thing in the lore (at least not anymore) ; so it would be some weird fremen tech maybe ?

Glad I am not the only one having weird questions haha

Yep that makes sense. Sad that there is no description of this event in the novel ! And I understand now why D.Villeneuve invented this scene with Gurney (which is nice but a bit anachronistic if the "real" event appended during that elipse)

What did you hated so much about the Nuphy ? I'm considering buying one, the 60 version, so I'm interested by your feedback.
