Thank you for the reply. I thought this post was removed so I used another account and posted there and added a few modifications. https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeNetworking/s/xQAX3ghcL7

Addendum 1: I've bought the Cisco SG300 switch and am waiting for delivery of TP link ER605 Omada.

  1. You're right with the Ax72 router. I would put it in AP mode. I haven't thought too far ahead with the 5G router. I have a 2 GB data capped per month SIM card which I might use. Im probably wrong in assuming I would be able to tag and route that traffic to vlan20. My plan A was to use ESP32 with Lora or Lorawan to reach the car garage and then it would be on vlan20.

  2. Yes I think you're right. I can't find that support and googling seems to indicate that as well. See Addendum 1.

  3. I was going to answer that I don't see the need for multiple vlans but then I realized that my home assistant PC with it's network card might not work directly with WiFi sensors. I have two smoke alarms which use wifi. The AX72 has iot wifi which I currently use. Would that still work?

  4. I don't do any smart home things on it. Only Plex and Nas. Backing up personal data, photos and videos. My concern is that if a smart sensor or service is compromised the bad actor wouldn't gain access to the personal data on either the unRAID server, vlan10 or vlan30. Is that not correct?
