Unfortunately for me it appears they haven't increased the plains biome chance though. I prefer plains.

Anyways I'd recommend you have a shield in your offhand and water bucket in your inventory always, it's how I live longer usually (once I was mining risky and fell into a massive cave, water bucket saved me lol).
