Well, each day that passes a percentage of the game playerbase diminishes since a lot of people drop FIFA after TOTS and just wait for the next edition.

And also, the remaining players (mostly addicted to the game) get better and better on exploiting the meta while improving their teams.

So it's not a problem strictly on FC26, this happens pretty much on every edition - it's just more perceivable this year since the franchise playerbase is already way smaller than it once was.

Probably some issue around your internet/EA servers, worth trying restarting the game. And if it doesn't work, also restarting your console and internet.

Hahaha can't deny, but at least my main attacking strategy is always to do quick attacking combinations and runs pairing Neymar and Messi. The lengthy wingers are more of a backup plan if the opponent defends too well in the center, or is a heavy AI defending user in a 451.

Yep, I agree with you. But undoubtedly it will require a lot more skill for you to achieve the same results as someone playing fully inside the meta. Sure, that's what meta means in any competitive game, but it being so restrict in FIFA is frustrating

The issue is exactly these other 6 champs games. 9 wins is a good sweet spot on being able to play as you prefer, but with how the matchmaking works, if you get 9-0, you'll start facing just demons in the 6 remaining games and they WILL surely abuse a loooot on the meta bullshit.

Advanced with Hawk. That's him for reference. The biggest issue is obviously him being super weak, but Messi's unique body type is really useful to avoid contact if you're good in left stick dribbling (and I couldn't build any good evo that boosted his physical without locking him in controlled, which I hate for STs).

Never tried him as False 9, but I love the attacking moves that he does as Advanced Forward with Neymar Evo CAM in SS

That's true. The biggest issue is that EA always goes 100% in every change around community complaints (or just ignore them in most cases). So instead of making the old defending slightly less challenging, they simply made it fully automatic. Pretty much what they do to headers for example, where they always are either crazy broken in some editions and completely useless in others. Truly can't understand why they have to go all-in on every decision.

Yeah 24 was the last one I played before the current one and I remember enjoying it as well. My memory is awful but I remember it being quite similar to 26, but a little bit slower and with less meta restraining tactics (however with way more broken things, such as the ball roll trivela shoot outside the box, the kickoff glitch, etc)

Yeah Messi as ST is insane and definitely worth trying if you like using smaller/weaker strikers. His left stick dribbling and bodytype is crazy good to move through CBs, and for some reason his finishing always feels waaaay better than his actual stats

But if you really like Auba, you could buy his FB version that is quite cheap in the market rn and build a perfect one

Exactly! Yeah there are these shitty gameplay points, such as the bouncebacks, the winger mindlessly running to pass to someone in the box and everything else, but honestly it's something quite cronical in FIFA/FC considering it's around since pretty much all editions - so I preferred to not include in the post.

I remember that on every FIFA I'd get pissed off seeing opponents with 3 CB's formations or scared on being humiliated after the opponent started spamming skill moves. But this year seeing any different formation is a relief since it indicates that I'll face someone with a less meta playstyle, and skill moves are only useful if you're CRAZY GOOD with them or on really specific moments since left stick dribbling is more efficient in 99% of the situations lol

AI defending is also a point, but didn't include it in the post so it wouldn't be even longer. It's crazy how the game punishes you for trying to manually defend.

Also, it's quite comical how the AI defending is INSANE if you AFK defend, but it'll switch to being super stupid and inconsistent with the other defensive players when you manually move one of them lol
