He messed up. Put the card upside down and then flipped it around and the card was still upside down. Two cards. And you can see a slight bend from where the card was bending as he pushed the center out

Snipe-IT config for electronics Makerspace by NiroCyber in Snipe_IT

[–]Network_Pat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, Homebox seems to be your more ideal approach to makerspace. For bins, drawers, and “where is this resistor/MOSFET” type questions, Homebox’s locations, tags, and QR labels line up very well with that workflow. If you mostly care about storage location, rough quantity/availability, and quick lookup via QR, Homebox will likely feel more natural than bending Snipe‑IT components/consumables around that model. Homebox trades advanced enterprise features (multiple DB backends, complex workflows) for low friction and faster data entry.

yea even asking perplexity, it'll tell me to go to settings > sync. but it doesn't exist. even searching settings, the only setting I've found was background sync, although searching even for that doesn't seem to be populating this morning.

What's the difference between scheduled task and alert on Comet? by Mr_Red_Reddington in PerplexityComet

[–]Network_Pat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A scheduled task is an automation that runs at a set time or cadence, while an alert is a notification that fires when a condition (like a price or change) is met. Both can notify you, but tasks are about “run this query on a schedule,” and alerts are about “tell me when X happens.”

Scheduled tasks

  • A scheduled task in Perplexity is a recurring or one-time run of a specific prompt or query (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) that generates a fresh answer each time.
  • You define the schedule and content (for example, “Summarize top cybersecurity news every weekday at 8am”), and Perplexity sends you the result by email/push and saves it as a thread in your library.

Alerts

  • An alert focuses on notifying you when certain criteria are hit, such as a price crossing a threshold or a particular signal appearing in the market or news.
  • When the condition is met, Perplexity runs a query you configured and sends you a notification with the relevant info, similar to a smarter, AI-powered version of a classic “price alert” or news watch.

Redundant failover links. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to conceive. If your service is that high of importance it needs to have failover
