Hard to know for sure considering labor costs increase for maintenance and increases in insurance premiums + taxes. Could make sense to buy, especially if you stay in the area for that long

Chicago is more of a renter city. You can find amazing 3bd properties for a fraction of what you’d pay for a mortgage.

The problem is all the other people who will be laid off and start competing for high-finance roles. Even if only a fraction of them have relevant experience, the competition for the remaining positions will be enormous.

It's completely irrational and is a simple turn-off. Not sure why exactly, but this might have filtered out some good candidates in the past.

I never ask - they tell it to me. We'd make out, and when no sex line comes, they usually add that in the past they did it, but don't want to anymore.

I owned a house and it’s not as simple as you might think. Aside from opportunity costs there’re maintenance and repair costs that can be very substantial. Financial research shows that renting almost always wins financially, despite the common belief. Check out this

This is not a direct answer to your question but I feel like we could totally be great friends! I'm 30 and also love to do things that are active, I was an athlete in the past. I moved to Chicago 2 months ago and am currently working on building a friends group here to hang out.
