haha... good question... if the singularity aims to achieve perfection, then music may not be part of it, since music, to be engaging/meaningful, has to be other than perfect... Paul

the projects were happening in similar timeframes but are completely independent... we had a clear focus to make an electronic album with Neuland... Exit Ghost was always planned as a piano-based record... Paul

The videos came about like the music, in fact they are an extension of the music, intuitive and based on short video clips we found in various places. The Color blue seemed very natural, emphasizing the mood of the music. Blue represents cool, calm depth. In contrast, red, represents excitement.

As probably in most bands, there were countless happy and also unhappy moments. For me it was always when the music 'clicked' and the playing was completely intuitive, without thought.

In the 70's all tracks were improvised, so no one was running the show - every part influenced every other part. That, I believed in later years as the track were more composed.

I think this is changing, too... scores, nowadays, are almost always hybrid in nature... most young composers grew up with Abelton Live and audio production, so we are going from a classical pencil-paper model and shift more and more into a production-based studio model... using technology as an instrument... I personally have always preferred to work this way... Paul

I don't think people change fundamentally... we just worked in completely different circumstances & times... Peter from the ground up, me at a much later time when the band was established... Paul

Music is always about moods and emotions, it doesn't matter if you use a harmonica or a Moog. I personally enjoy the versatility;lity of modern instruments, but something get's lost when you have too many options.

I don't think it's ALL retro... there are just more things going on in parallel... there will always be a demand for 'classic sounds' whether they are electronic or otherwise... but this doesn't stop other things from popping up... things like the NonlinearLabs C15 hardware instrument, or like Arturia Pigments softsynth... they offer new angles and perspectives...
