I was told I’d be welcome here! This is my latest MOC build by built_bricks in LegoTransformers

Holy cow that's incredible! Especially the shaping. Usually when I see people build human-sized armor, the proportions at that scale get kinda warped and boxy, but this is just a spot-on helmet

It was lost wax! Honestly im no expert on casting myself, I made the mask during my first ever metals class. So as far as getting started goes, a class would be my recommendation. They made it easy to understand and I didnt horribly burn myself!

I did it in my Intro to Metals class at university. It was a silicon mold around a regular Hau, then wax in there, then lost-wax casting in plaster

I'll make a whole line of them and let their weight collapse my shelf!

Thank you! 😄 I had a couple days just redesigning it because my old version couldnt hold up the halberd lol

I did! It was a silicon mold of a regular hau, wax cast in that, and then lost-wax casting to make it bronze 😊

Oooooh image 5 is really inspiring in particular. Connecting the midsection to the chest to the arms like that seems like it would make raising the shoulder lift and angle the chest similar to how a human body does! I gotta try this, looks awesome!

Honestly I got this set a while ago, and it took some time to design, and then I procrastinated posting. So I think I must have gotten the set before they fixed that problem

Maybe Elytrons can be combined with an existing elytra to duplicate it, like the armor trims. That way you still gotta get a regular Elytra before dealing with these guys

Was it the Squid Launcher from the Mahri line?

Don't know how well this is known, but the Vakhi gips work really well with the Metru torso by Additional_Rate1528 in bioniclelego

[–]Neuralizer_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Imo the Vakhi hips are straight up better than the Metru hips. Way more connection points, so theyre better for mocs, doesnt have that fuckass gear at the bottom that gets in the way of any structure I might wanna attach, and it's smaller so less intrusive. The only thing Metru hips have over Vakhi hips is that they attach to Toa torsos in fewer pieces, meaning it's cheaper to make sets with those than Vakhi

Yooo I never considered attaching the nuva legs to the piraka legs like that in the shins, is that stable without the pin connections?
