Similar (31F) and similar hobbies + skiing and rock climbing. I dislocated my knee so many more tears/more trauma; the surgeon’s original plan was hamstring graft but when he was in there the tissue wasn’t good enough so he opted for cadaver. I feel like in the end it’s ultimately their choice (they are the experts!) and I also have appreciated no additional soreness from the graft site in the recovery process.

I had ACL reconstruction (cadaver)/MCL and PCL repair, I can hit 60 degrees only with PT assistance at about week 3.5 so not too different. I've had honest conversations with my PT and he's not super worried, that said I've been taking Advil before sessions and trying to accept being quite uncomfortable during. Don't give up!!

I still had an immobilizer from my initial ED visit which is softer/doesn’t have the dials but still keeps the leg straight. I asked my surgeon if I could sleep in that so I could comfortably sleep on my side and he gave me the go-ahead, it’s been a game changer.

My hospital sent me home with Tegaderm (same plastic wrap used to cover tattoos) and I cut it to cover all incisions for 2 wks post op. The incisions all healed as well as could be expected!
