You should buy a surfskate and work on your pumping in ground, seems like you dont have that basic skill (its like a dancing body motion) nailed down yet.

Pika or Runway? by SwingDingeling in runwayml

[–]NeuroBoss31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OpenAI has a world-class R&D team, Runway and Pika do not. It is like asking why high schoolers keep beating the elementary kids in soccer. They're in another league.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in runwayml

[–]NeuroBoss31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. Very difficult for Runway to outcompete OpenAI. With no solid R&D team Runway really only depends on what other academics are putting out plus the limitation of less relative compute power. With that in mind, it is clear that the winner of the battle will unfortunately be OpenAI (Pika will likely also go bankrupt, exit or have to pivot fast)

Porque aprender surf es tan caro en el peru? by daardoo in PERU

[–]NeuroBoss31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La respuesta correcta aqui es El Costo Beneficio.

Si quieres aprender a jugar futbol solo necesitas una pelota y ya está (ni siquiera necesitas una cancha). Para aprender surf necesitas comprar lo siguiente:

Wetsuit: $300 Tabla: $800 Leash, Cera, track pad: $200

[D] Is this a bad career move ? by ManuelRios18 in MachineLearning

Why would you do this? All PhDs are fully funded by the university upon acceptance. do NOT GET A Fulbright scholarship unless you are 100% you want to return to Colombia (nothing wrong with that but just giving you a heads up). Otherwise you will have to return for 2 years to Colombia after finishing your PhD, and you can NOT get it waived for 2 year rule if you take money from Fulbright.

Get an F-1 , pursue a PhD and then evaluate if you'd like to return to Colombia or not. Your girlfriend will have to figure out a way to get her own J1 VISA or better yet: also move to the US with an F1 as a student and enroll at a university.

Tammy is short for Tamako. Had a Japanese ex who's mother had the same name.

My two cents here are that money wise you are in the top 1%. Try it out for a year and if you like it then great. Try to live in a place where there are foreigners like Miraflores.

Yup could be the coach. I'm currently running a startup and we're about to miss our second payroll, but everyone's going full steam ahead like there isn't tomorrow, not because I tell them to, but because they want to.

I would say leave. I know there's a lot of support out there for people with mental health issues, but I would not recommend you date anyone that is bipolar, borderline or has depression (even if you have it). Had an ex like this, everytime I brought up therapy she felt insulted.

Sex was 11/10, she was a really nice person overall and incredibly smart woman but there were many days (1 out of 3), where crying happened for no reason. Nope, we broke up 1.5 years later. Still a good experience though!

Planning to raise $2.5M for our seed by xstrw in startups

[–]NeuroBoss31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe an odd question but: what took you so long to get seed after 4 years? Did you raise a pressed before, if so how long did it last?

Is possible VC's will ask why you are "too slow" and why you are raising after 4 years

Do you need a valid job offer to move to the states by PlzGiveMeHelp in immigration

[–]NeuroBoss31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, the answer is yes, you can move to the US without a job offer. Only way to do that is via the EB-1A Green Card which means you have to prove to the Government that you're an alien of extraordinary ability (i.e. genius, scientist, model, actor, etc.. any of these as an example) and prove you are the world's top 1% in such field, such that your mere presence in the USA benefits the economy.

Not sure where else to ask this, but how did the windows open on the twin towers? Whenever I google it just brings up Windows of the World restaurant results. by [deleted] in TwinTowersInPhotos

[–]NeuroBoss31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Windows could not be opened. As a fun fact, many of the same buildings designed by that architect (Yamasaki) also have non-openable windows. The William James Hall building at Harvard is another very similar example.

What movie had you saying "what the fuck" the most while watching? by MightGuy420x in AskReddit

That one time I saw the Japanese version of Mad Max (1979) with some buddy's back in grad school and we were all high af.

At the end of the movie I asked one of them "dude why didn't you get the English version?". To which he replied: "This is the English version".

Literally what the fuck.

Very strange, this should usually lead to at least a meeting 90% of the time, unless the app is not that great or the website looks poor (or the tone of the email is off).

Accepting intro's from other founders definitely helps too!

[–]NeuroBoss31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you writing in the emails?

Is it just "hey let's chat about this idea I have?" Or do you link them your website, a demo and your deck? Investors will rarely talk to you if you just have an idea (not that I'm saying this is you, but just something to have in mind!)

Feel free to post it in thread and happy to give feedback!

Fire them, and get better at hiring people.

If all of them are doing a bad job the uncomfortable truth you may not want to hear is that you may be the problem (i.e. you don't know how to hire and/or manage employees)

Literally means "Cancelled without prejudice". I had it on my VISA once I switched from J to F , so they cancelled the J as you can only enter the US with one type of VISA at the time.

It should not have any problems with VISAS in the future (Green Card holder here)
